It is a great game. Once you realise that there is no point going into wars as there is no way for you to go and recruit "muscle" and you'll end up losing your turf anyway.
So the easiest way is to be a "white-collar" bootlegger and buy up everything. You can just build up your empire and buy the next district. This also gets the "city respect" stats maxed out automatically, so don't spend on bribes. Also, rival families attack till your animosity is under 5% with them, so I just bought up the whole district in one go (if not, they will keep attacking and you'll lose).
Buy, build, order booze, next turn, buy, build, order booze, it just gets repetitive. :) Wish we could at least form alliances, as it is really a 4v1 -- the other families don't attack each other.
+ one more thing, apart from implementing save-game: a suggestion for MW3. It would be nice to have explorable maps + a fog-of-war effect (both optional to switch on/off, of course).
I can only repeat the moaning of other players: it's hard to save gold for tougher units and towers, and then they perish in no time -- unless they are the enemy. I'm not even halfway through and that Rambo is more like a T-600.
Good game though even if it's more like a beta. Or gamma. :) No bugs, just needs balancing the stats. :)
Better than NW1, which is somewhat too hard and annoying to control. NW2 has managed to overcome that, but I don't like the difficulty levels. Instead of standing against a more challenging AI on harder levels, we simply can't see what the hell is going on! It is just annoying to be made blind and handicapped on the battlefield.
