Canadian born Japanese academic, medical science and environmental activist. I have earned my Ph.D in genetics from the University of Canada. I continue making e-books about nature and the environment in Canada. Recently I have been assisting Global Forest Watch Canada under Peter Lee. I believe we need to remind our governments about their lack of action to protect the environment in which we live.

I was born in London, Canada as Tomoko Satoshi of Japanese parents. Japanese custom is surname first and individual name last. Early on in grade school a girl asked my name and couldn’t pronounce it. She proceeded to call me Simon. The nickname stuck, so against my father’s wishes, I had it legally changed to Simon Tomoko.
