Fun game; something about the zombie movement is super satisfying to watch, and it's great seeing a horde flood in through a door. Dev is really great and SUPER responsive- I asked for a human stats page and now it's in!
Damage/health/everything numbers are somewhat obscured by the fact that I have no clue how much damage/health enemies have. A bestiary would be helpful, or at least an idea of how the levels scale.
Similarly, the dynamic of "fight monsters to get gold -> click on apples to refill stamina/health as you do, every second -> spam click on bobbing for apples to get more apples -> sell loot items from a third screen" is absolutely horrid for my arm and hand.
Painfully click-heavy- it takes 50 clicks to deplete the starting mana bar with Focus, then I do that something like 7-10 times for each skill level. Needs a "click 10 times" option or similar.
The jump controls are really unusual; you can jump whenever, and it refreshes when you move against a wall you weren't already touching; for example you can just bump the same wall repeatedly to scale it, but if you are pressed against a wall and jump up it, you can't wall jump off it since you were already touching it.
Just beat Arena as Goblin Chief. Saboteurs are fantastic vs. AI because the AI really really hates them, so they tend to make blocking them 1st priority, and you can just Rescue Operation them away when you need. Goblin Champions (warriors?) are also great because they're practically impossible to block intentionally, AND can get fantastic attack late in the game- especially with orc leadership. Master Healer gives you the time you need to stall, and has a game-winning combo with Illusionist's Phantom Warriors if you can set it up- they're functionally invincible as long as he's up.
4/5. Fantastic graphics, love the animations, surprising combo abilities once you work out how. -1 for not being able to remap controls. I have to use my ring finger to attack, which is incredibly difficult to transition to from a block or dodge.
The trick with survival is to get the +weapon damage upgrade, and set up a basic set of cheap damage. I prefer 2 pierce tower stacks topped by +damage blocks, which costs 16 souls each. In the middle, I toss down a line of upshot blocks, which tend to take the brunt of cheesing. The piercers cover the swarms pretty damn well, and by the end I had something like 250 souls in storage, just adding to damage.
Looks like an OK game, but the big problem is that you actually don't want to get coins, because it makes the boss way harder, which means that a) you'll take more damage and lose coins, and b) there will be more of the other things, which means you'll take more time and lose even more coins. The upgrades don't help much- you need to save up for the attack upgrades, and that's the only thing you're given.I actually make more money on the 500+ boss than the 1000+ boss, because I can only survive one of them.
Just added this in my to do list. Thanks for informing me.
