HOW TO HIGH SCORE:
Perhaps I'm feeling nostalgic from the passing of this site, here's what you do to get a fast time:
1. After all the paths are unlocked, play all the way through, but go back one area when you get to the final boss/area
2. Farm 6 pieces of gear with the water bonus/ skill cool down reduction. Don't worry about lowering other stats.
3. Prioritize water bonus gear, then intelligence increase. You only want high int score water gear.
4. When time is almost out, or you are board farming gear, move forward to the last area and take out the final boss.
5. Click to play another game.
6. Select the following skills : Axe-Adv Execute, Bow-Adv Hail, Sword-Adv Judgement.
7. Start another game.
8. Immediately activate Bow-Adv Hail, and then the other two skills.
9. LOOT: Prioritize taking intelligence potions (don't use them right away), then keeping at least two pieces of water bonus gear, then gear that increases your intelligence. It's ok to select items that don't give the water bonus if they increase your intelligence AND you already have 2 pieces of water gear, AND an intelligence potion isn't available.
10. Advance up to Adventure Acres 5, and farm there until your skill cool down from gear and water bonuses is high enough that using all of your intelligence potions at once will put your skill cool down at %100 or higher. At that point, skills recharge instantly.
11. Use all your intelligence potions at once.
12. Do not pick up loot past this point; Focus only on spamming the Sword-Adv Judgement skill.
13. Move on to the next area (Broken Badlands) by clicking the up arrow.
14. Spam the Sword-Adv Judgement skill as quickly as you can for the rest of the run. Use only this skill.
15. At the end of Broken Badlands 5, move to the next area (Freaky Forrest) by clicking the down arrow. This is the last time during the run that you'll need to input anything besides the Sword-Adv Judgement spam.
If this all is done correctly, you should be able to glide to and beat the end of the game before the intelligence poition(s) wear out.
16. Enjoy your personal best score.
I'm right there with you on the passing of this site. It was such a great place to find (and post) fun and risky ideas. Not only that, but the audience was awesome. It's got people like you that give thorough feedback and willingly make guides just like that. I hope everyone here - players and devs alike - can find a similar place to call home in the future. Thanks for being a great player, you make it worth it to us devs :)
The only improvement that comes to mind at the moment is a meter for strength remaining so that you don't have to attempt mining to see how much strength is left.
3. Not sure if the specific unit targeting feature is working. Clicking on an icon makes it darker, but does not produce a noticeable targeting effect (at least how I use it). Making its use more intuitive would be nice.
4. I'm not sure if there's a memory leak, or some other issue, but everything slows way down after a few minutes. If there's something that can be done to remedy this, and to improve performance, I recommend doing it. The economic viability of a game like this depends on long term play, which people may not stick around for once the laggin dragon (I just made that up) rears its ugly head. It's good to see quality adjusting features in the options menu. I haven't taken the time yet to observe the results of using them though.
Thank you for the game and the effort you've put into entertaining me.
I've enjoying this game so far. Here are some suggestions (not complaints) that may help improve it and the overall experience of players:
1. At the bottom of the screen, near the gem and money counters, include a mushroom counter. This will let players know when to turn off auto-start so that they can upgrade.
2. Wave cancel button. So straight to the upgrades without having to wait for the wave to be over.
A reset button would be nice. If I want to start over now, I either have to shoot/click end level/repeat, or refresh the browser. A button that would allow me to restart at level 1 without jumping through hoops would be nice.
This game is good as is. Too many games sacrifice game play and mechanics in favor of upgrades. This game already has an upgrade system that is perfect for it, extra balls from collecting bonuses and clearing stages. 5 out of 5.
