It's kind of like us I guess... Trapped in our computers, eating processed food, not resting enough. I think this game might be about having no regrets and learning about the world so that you can be at peace. Something like that. It's hard to just write.
This needs more content! It has one repetitive block in it but then it gets better, but the end isn't as rewarding as I hoped and the game just gets easier and easier until you REALLY need something extra. Great game, love it! But please make more content!
On the bright side, this game is almost cutely blocky and tells the tale of a boy who sets out to find his long-lost brother. On the dark side, the progression is tediously slow and there is little to the game. You'll find yourself mindlessly holding left and right on the keyboard for a terribly unsatisfying ending. 3 out of 10.
I can agree on most of these and yes I know the game is very boring, but if you look at my entry post I only have 5 months of experience of anything related to game development. Thanks for a most honest review.
...I think I get it now, why the game stopped when Skinny entered the system. We play as Skinny. Skinny goes into the system. We ARE in the system, where we rely on the government to 'save' us from its own system of debt, and where we rely on technology to make our lives an easy dream, and where we grow old and die - but for what?? What do we sustain by giving our energy to this system??? The system! We don't need it, where we think like such adults and respond to fear, forgetting the rest of the beautiful world around us, trapped in our technology chairs. Get out.
ok, so I wrote a poem for this... umm... sorry if it's not so great... here it goes...
She sees me not, though I am there,
As the restless winds curl through her hair,
The laughs we've shared, the time we've spent,
Has left her in a dungeon pent,
And in her heart, she'll always care,
But sudden loss left her world bare,
The good times gone, the colour grey,
She must move on for I can't stay.
Skinny, Coma, NightSky, Grey... all of these and more don't just give us 10 minutes of free entertainment, but leave an imprint on the soul. To me, CaveStory, Sulkies and Ikachan also have that kind of effect, but we all have different oppinions.
This game kinda destroys the original concept of 'scroll up quick or die', and grue seemed to me a better name than the ever-generic slime, but I love the new music, storyline, length (man, the old one was really short) and items. This is a great game!
