This game is good for a laugh - it's funny to see the crazy towers topple over IF you don't care what you're building. But if you want to earn a badge or get a high score, then it's very annoying. Those odd-shaped blocks (the "Z" ones) make it very hard to build a stable tower. I do enjoy puzzle games, but this one is not much fun unless your goal is to watch lopsided buildings fall over. I never did see the appeal of Tetris so...
At first I thought this game was pretty boring and easy, as I was defeating the opponents very easily and really didn't understand the game all that much...but then I ran into the Lord of the Air and that changed. I kept loosing over and over so I had to come up with a strategy to beat her. After that the game became more interesting, even if she was the toughest opponent. I was able to rush through the campaign and win the Badge of the Day just before midnight (and it was the first time I ever played this too). For anyone having problems with her, you need to destroy those two special cards of hers so you can fight her on equal terms. Skip turns if you have to - that activates more cards. You also need the right card in your deck to do that, so you may have to lose a few times first before you can get her. So once you get a bit further into this game, it does become a lot more interesting and challenging.
This game is pretty stupid. I build up a few bubbles around myself and as soon as I go into the "wrong bubble" I get instantly attacked by bigger bubble tanks and then either all or most of my bubbles are gone, which mean I'm back at the beginning. There is no way to see if a bubble you want to enter is occupied or not. I also spent a lot of time being bounced between two bubbles occupied by bigger tanks - I could not control my bubble tank at all then and could only watch as I kept going back and forth, back and forth over and over until I managed to regain control and escape. I tried shooting at the bigger tanks and I can't seem to injure them, either, yet they demolish me in one shot.
Exactly how long are we supposed to swing or pull on those gas planet moons before they explode?? I have tried everything, swinging around in circles, swinging partway and then jerking back the other way, simply hanging there, swinging up to the top and then falling straight down past the moon and NOTHING works! I tried with one moon for 15 minutes straight and with another for 20 minutes. It's a bit annoying to hold the mouse button down that long. Even Boss Battles in other games take only 3 minutes. If this is a glitch, it should be fixed. And for unknown reasons, I also found myself once back on the pink planet after completing the crystal thing - the pink symbol was not on the screen (just the light green gas planet and the blue one for Earth) yet somehow the gravity of the pink planet pulled me in. I did enjoy swinging on the clouds and in space; I just wish the game would work as it should.
You need a VERY steady hand to play this game. You also need to keep the point of the cursor arrow in the middle of the pathway. My cursor arrow seems just slightly larger than the paths in this game so it was often overlapping, which I meant I had to start over and over and over... It was a little annoying but I kept trying until I got to the end. It's actually much easier to do the maze with my eyes than with the cursor, as if often kept touching a line and forcing me to restart. This is probably the most detailed and careful use of my mouse ever - not used to using a mouse this way. The maze itself is well designed/drawn.
I had a hard time defeating the first boss, too. I found the best way to defeat the Shrub is to stand just in front of him, where the two rocks are in the background. Then keep jumping and do the spin attack - you spin around in the air while using the sword. Do this by keep hitting the A and S keys. You may need to practice first. This keeps you in the air so when the shrub jumps you don't get hurt and repeals the bubbles he blows. You can also toss the bombs/rocks back at Lance this way, too. And use Heal during the fight to heal yourself. When you press D to use a spell the game pauses so no worry there. Just keep doing this and you will defeat him - it takes several tries though. Oh, and don't get TOO close or you will get injured. And keep your finger on/near the right arrow key so he doesn't blow you off the cliff.
