I'm a huge fan of this game, but the gap between the haves and the have-nots becomes pretty apparent whenever you dive into one of the events. I say this as one of the mildly bitter have-nots, and I've been pretty regularly since a month after start-up.
Good sim, just doesn't place the people practically. Were I a guest at my hotel, I would probably complain about the old moustached engineer just walking the halls with nothing to do.
The classic story of the man who can't speak, done in by his vice: debauchery. I kinda likes it. There's a lot of variations which is nifty, but it seems pretty formulaic after a while.
I like the ingenuity of the concept, the drawing, and the use of color. That last one sounds like a copout but it was more than cacophonous, there was a lot of design here. Love it.
Fun, squadronny mechanics that, as has been said, I haven't seen since the Total War series. I like the basic upgrade system mixed with the leveling to motivate you to keep your guys alive. Oh and music that had me reaching for the Volume Up button instead of the Mute button, one of the best (albeit slightly limited) soundtracks I've heard in a while. 5 of 5.
I don't always comment, but when I do...it's because I've found an exceptional game. Nothing against DESTROYING MORE ORCZES 5.0, I enjoy those games but this one just had so much personality; it had me playing for the next challenge and the next storytelling wrinkle. 5/5, top-shelf stuff.
I'll be honest, I was thrown when I saw the depth and content here. And then I was like, "Sure, it's deep enough, but it can't run that smoothly and buglessly." But I was wrong, or I've been wrong so far. 5-star effort, truly awesome stuff.
Okay, this is one of the zaniest games I've played on here in a while...and that's definitely not a bad thing. Also, I found myself loving the music, which surprised me. This package is legit.
It's the poor man's Skyrim! :p but on a serious note, I'm at what might be halfway through the third game and I declare Mardek to be the greatest RPG on the web, and I don't think it's close. The music is kinda discordant but for the most part sublime, way-above-the-average battle graphics/spell effects, fun battle system and "unique" character development system with the bonuses (the "AP", as it were), but honestly my favorite part is just reading through all the descriptions and dialogue, looking for hidden gems and digs at other giants in the genre. No other RPG has made come close to wanting to do that. Pseudolonewolf, I salute thee.
Level 28 and this is the first time I've had to report a missing achievement, let alone 4...no 5-star if you can't implement your "simple" badges, but I'll offer it 4 for being frenetic and fun
