Just stumbled through a couple pages of comments and noticed that no one mentions how difficult the game is when your technique is high (around 40 or so) I can no longer hit a strait shot and if I ever attempt a bend I usually end up curling it way to far, I am guessing at max technique i could attempt to hit a ball in a circle.
For those having trouble on higher difficulty levels remember that only the zombies next to your walls attack, send solders out to attack the zombies even if you are not planning on expanding to that area. I was able to beat the game on harder without much trouble using this strategy. Also research the food line first. The final upgrade will increase your farms effectiveness by 50% and make it so your nearly immune to random events that cause a loss of food. Make sure everyone has something to do and once you have a 4x4 square your nearly impossible to kill
After level 5 the game gets impossibly hard as you are no longer protected from the higher level characters, many of their guns are 1 shot k/o's and they have enough health to tank you for several hits. Add in that it will take you 4 months to get to their level and I decided to shelve this game which is a shame because i enjoyed getting the hard badge
i love this game. A tip for people struggling on catching the bat, an ideal web leaves a large circle in the middle, you cannot support a web that covers the entire area. I generally use a half circle and pray that the ends of my circle isn't what gets hit.
It feels like this was rushed for some reason, there are numerous helpful things that are missing.
You cannot sell unused furniture. There is no conformation when swapping weapons, gotten me killed. There is a lack of game play options such as turning off animation to speed up battles. The shop never updates except for the recipes. There is no variation in cost for the recipes, a red die recipe cost as much as the best items in the game. The defense quest feel tacked on, just moving a guy wherever you want each turn to kill something. Also there is no explanation as to what the difference between heavy, normal, and light attacks, I realize that they to increasing damage but how much. The % hit chance is also off, i think it adds the dodge chance of the creature you are attacking but why not just put that % in the button. There are also numerous other issues that severely drag the game down. Its currently an OK game that could be MUCH better with some polish, 3/5
So all the bosses are immune to silence and stuns, which would be the only time i would really want to use either of those abilities. Whatever there was only one difficult battle in the whole game and I had the best weapons every time i had a chance to buy them.
4/5 would get the full 5/5 except for a few things. Targeting is a must; the ring ships soaking up missiles annoy's the crap out of me especially when 2-3 motherships tear into my base. I would also like to see an ability to upgrade my relays, they occasionally need more health in order to not split your base with one stray missile. THEL's need a balance too, the rape your energy. I don't know what the specifics are but a fully upgraded THEL can cost the same amount of energy as about 6 regular lasers, and the range means that it will constantly fire and take all that energy away from your miners. Besides the few game play changes i would like to see the game is still very fun, even if i don't want to stick around through all the Crazy missions.
Came back to the game after a day with 0 gold and 0 materials on an auto save. The game needs some kind of memory dumb cause after 15 minnutes the transiontions beween battle and travel take forever. There are much better versions of this style of game on this site. Try caravaneer, i know spelling isn't my strong suit but this game is too frustrating to bother with spellcheck.
I'm a big fan of turn based stratagy games so I spent two hours trying to figure out how this one worked. Overall I feel that the damage is too random. You spend the entire time waiting to get masterfull or critical hits. The special abilities were useless because of this. When you lvled up a unit the upgrade price for their armor went up too...by like 5 times the previous ammount. I quit playing when I had 3 heavy infintry laying seige too a city with one guy in it and they all died without taking the guy down to half health over 10 turns, i still had 3 other cities to take over with the remaining 15 turns too. I don't think I'll try again. 2/5 :(
In the last lvls the game started to lag baddly for me, the plot was weak, guided bullets make no sense, and you lose score durring the breifings... 2/5
