Really nice, though a bit easy with such a low resolution field. If you can figure out a way to optimise the physics so that you can have more blocks on screen, you could do some more challenging puzzles and this game would be complete. Really awesome little game for a first run at the idea though. The physics thing is actually a really nice feature.
Will say though, the way the HUD moves is a little uncomfortable on the eyes, would be better for me if it didn't jiggle so much.
Really nice game, enjoyed it a great deal trying to optimise for a high score and it's got some nice clean mechanics for that sort of play. I did encounter a small bug in that I got a doublejump from a light but the light stayed on (I forget exactly where, but I barely hit the light from up-left and immediately changed direction, so it's probably from spending only one frame in contact with the hitbox)
Really fun, kind of done with it after getting 144k score though. It was a fun hour.
Really top notch simple puzzle game. Smooth controls, no slow slidey accel/deceleration or any of the usual irritating touches, just some really nice level design and well introduced mechanics. Slightly anticlimactic at the end, though, and it could maybe do with a few dozen pixels of extra vertical space. Some of the levels were made harder than necessary by some guys having a ceiling right above them and others not.
Top notch though, 5/5.
I've had a glitch that doesn't let me see the powerup menu. I saw it one time before the update that deleted saves, and haven't since. Anytime I click on the button, it just acts like I haven't. It's making the Hard badge... really hard.
@brainisdead
For me, waves 5-8ish were spent just running around killing for enough cash for a decent weapon. Main thing, don't stand on the car, just means you waste time fixing it. Just run around a lot.
It was decent and all, but the challenge wasn't really there. Sure, I died 450 times in normal, and 300 times in challenge, but there's so little interaction that I just didn't find myself being "challenged." The "hardest" levels were actually easier in a lot of ways, because they usually involved jumping on the first possible frame after a tunnel, something I find pretty straightforward.
Adding jump height for different length presses would fix my problems with it. Currently, it's just "jump on frames 7, 54, and 82."
@Norekai - It seems to be more of a reference to Wargames, in which the main character plays Missile Command in the opening, and in the rest of the plot attempts to prevent a MAD scenario. While it's not accurate for this game, I appreciated the reference, as a fan of the film.
Great game, but it can get pretty straining on the eyes after a while. Also, in endless mode, I lost my last life to what seemed to be a random suicide. It was on the pattern where he drops down... he wasnt on screen and I kablammoed.
Still, freaking awesome fun.
This game would be resemble a masterpiece if you could just get the physics sorted out. Touching a ceiling mid-jump really should stop me dead in my tracks. So many retries based on that alone made this game much less enjoyable than it really should be. It plays like a beta to me because of this. Polish it up and you'll have that masterpiece.
