Those bloody crows ... they were really unnerving. This game was done really well - I'm not usually a fan of horror games because I freak out whenever something pops out at me, but this one was spectacular and I could still handle playing it. Thanks for the enjoyable experience!
This game is a pretty fun, neat little way to practice your typing skills. However, it did get kind of difficult whenever words started to overlap and you couldn't tell where the word for one asteroid ended and another began ...
this game is starting to irritate me, it seems like every time i hit the edge of a rock or something similar my dinosaur feels the need to literally turn the opposite way. why??
This game is incredibly frustrating for one main reason: bad timing. Nothing is spaced out very well at all. The entire game is based off of the mechanic of using explosions to bounce around, except sometimes (especially in pit areas) you don't get nearly enough to bounce off of. Even when you first start level 3 there is literally nothing to hit but the terrain immediately jumps off into a pit. The final boss is equally frustrating. There is no pattern whatsoever to what the little satellite does; the random distribution of bombs and lasers makes it impossible to implement any sort of strategy. You just have to go at it and hope for the best, which makes winning (and losing) incredibly unsatisfying. Plus the story makes absolutely no sense at all. I'm sorry, but I really don't understand how anyone could even remotely like this game.
I like the game as a whole, and the dialogues are enjoyable. However, I'm never really sure what exactly to do with these minigames? I feel like the goal isn't very clearly stated and you aren't given enough time (especially with the forest maze). Also it would help if the timer stopped whenever you paused to read a description of something. Otherwise slow readers are really penalized.
A lot of people complain about going slow when you touch a wall, but you can actually use that to your advantage to fall at a slower pace and time your landings better on some of the later levels, so I didn't mind. I really like the entire premise of this game - a choose-your-own-adventure platformer? That's basically combining my two favorite genres. Love it, love the game, hope you make more!
I think, given the apparent popularity, when I find some time to get back to working on projects I'll look at doing a refined, longer and hopefully as engaging 'sequel' :) Thanks for taking the time to comment :)
Simple concept, easy to learn and play. However I find myself losing interest the farther along I play. There isn't much to keep it fresh. Maybe if you could add one or two new elements farther in it would help?
For a flash shooter I suppose this game is okay, but the one major flaw I found is that you will occasionally get columns of enemies that stretch from the top to the bottom of the screen, making it effectively impossible to shoot and kill all of them unless you feel like ramming into the bottom one, and therefore decrease your own health in the process. Also, I find it annoying that even enemies that have been off-screen for several seconds will continue to shoot you. These sorts of design flaws really ruined the game for me.
I'm sorry, but I really can't enjoy playing this game because the whole time I'm playing I feel like you're just trying to piggyback on the popularity of Portal. No thanks, I'd like a more original platformer, please.
This game is alright, but I feel like you should have included some more details in your rules. For instance, you can't activate a sphere with more than one connection at once or one of them goes straight through and out of bounds. It would have been nice to know that beforehand. Also, I feel like the little creatures and bubbles and what not are entirely pointless. You don't need to add silly fluff like that to your game to make it more interesting, and if you really think you do, your game probably isn't that interesting in the first place.
I wish the game weren't so obviously bent toward you only going for one skill tree. I tried to get spells from all three and it ended up backfiring majorly later on when I found out that the level cap is only 15. Next time you make a game, try not to make it so difficult for people who want to be more rounded-out characters, please. TIP: CONCENTRATE ON JUST ONE SKILL TREE
This game was pretty solid as far as the general concept goes. It's a side-scrolling space shooter. It's a pretty well established genre. But this particular game has several large drawbacks. For one thing, it doesn't give you any sort of instructions or hints as to get you started. It's not too hard to pick up as you go, but some general tips would be nice. And what's the point of having a side-scroller that lets you look in two directions IF THE ENEMIES CAN GO UP AND DOWN OFF SCREEN? You can't shoot them if you have no idea where they are. Also, there are no clear objectives. At all. I feel like I'm just shooting forever without actually accomplishing anything. As previously mentioned in others' comments, the game becomes incredibly difficult if you don't upgrade everything in a certain order. All in all, it's a good foundation but the game has a long way to go before being truly enjoyable. 2/5
The concept and story of this game are pretty nice. There are many different ways the player can interpret the symbolism of the game, which is what a good artistic piece does. However, the physics were a little tough to get used to and there were occasionally a few vertical lines down in the lower areas that, when I passed through them, made my character stick for just a second. Things like that can distract from the true purpose of the game, which is to entertain and tell a story. TL;DR: nice concept, but the execution could use a little work as far as game mechanics go.
I would really enjoy this game a lot more if not for all of the waiting between days. I mean, come on - you expect us to be happy that after playing for ten minutes we have to wait around for another half hour? What is the point of all that?
Wow ... am I the only one who didn't really like this came all that much? I mean, the animation was fine, the coding was good, yadayada, but it didn't seem to have much of a point ... it was just "for some reason there's this dream machine that doesn't work ... so fix it." No plot at all. Other than that it was an okay game I guess, but the whole time I was kind of wondering why I was playing it other than to just complete it and get it over with. There's really no motivation. 3/5
