Games like this make me question the fact if the developers themselves played the game. It is clear to anyone, ANYONE, that the flying enemies are annoying as ****. Even if it's possible, it's totally unbalanced and obviously annoying, so this should have been fixed even before the game came out. Now everyone's complaining about it, it should be a quick fix to at least change their parameters to "less overly deadly".
To clarify on my earlier comment (after playing some more): This is specifically about the tiny bullets, those from: - Mushrooms - Earth spirits - Pink jellyfish - Popped bubles - etc. I seem to have no problem at all with any other bullets (I can at least do the first few bosses on heavenly, no problem perfect run).
I really love all your games. I completely 100% aced the previous bullet hell game, and I was really looking forward to play this one, but I'm sad to report that I can't. Not because of anything technical, but just because my brain doesn't register the "bullets". They're not big enough, or clear enough. I even tried high-contrast mode but it doesn't seem to help. I just simply don't register the bullets unless I'm looking at them DIRECTLY.
Again, I never had this problem with the first bullet heaven game, OR with any of the touhou games (I played a lot of those). It feels really, really weird.
Mayor flaw: you can't use input during slowdown. Result: Need to spam the correct button 2 to 4 times in REALLY QUICK succession to make sure to hit the timeframe. I really dislike this.
Also, a farmer after ducking arrows is sometimes impossible to kill. You're dead before arrow-duck animation is finished (only during sprint, though).
Still, really awesome game. 4/5
Ok so I finished it. Great game. There's only two tiny little things, one which is just personal preference and one which is, I think, a genuine problem.
1) I think it's pretty counterintuitive that the bullets come from the right of your character. This means that your character is always a bit more left than you'd expect them to be, when trying to dodge the bullets. However, this is just a personal problem and I can't lower the score for this.
2) Bullets can be "out of sight" beneath the menu at the bottom, and afterwards still hit me. I have had so many times that I was wondering what actually happened, until I finally realized that bullets continue traveling under the menu. You can't see them, yet they can still hurt you. It's the one thing that killed me the most times (about 50% of all my "hits" were because of this).
Anyway, still a great and enjoyable game. Good to have fun for a good half hour. 4/5
Thought having played Touhou would help. Actually screwed me over because the hitbox is NOT in the middle for this game, but the whole sprite. XD I keep getting hit because I think "well, that's just going to pass through the edge of the sprite." Well, subconsciously.
"P ==> quit ==> confirm ==> click level" to retry a level? Do you know how annoying that is? Or am I missing something?
Anyway, for ANY game, make R = RESET LEVEL! (Don't ask confirmation either!)
You know, the game is not that bad, but still...
If I'm not pressing left or right, I DONT WANT TO MOVE LEFT OR RIGHT...
But the idea is still good so 3/5
Wait, what? I was just cruisin STRAIGHT on the road, then i jump, and the road goes LEFT, how do I end up in the LEFT TIRES next to the road (yes, i pressed left while in the air, SO WHAT? I'm not on the ground, right)? This game has some serious issues. The auto-aim is terribly wrong/broken, you can't slow down a bit for corners (just full-on hit the brakes) but, well, that's the two most important pars of a racing game: Corner pathing and speed adjusting. Why mess these up? Seriously? 2/5
Very fun game! Also short gameplay, for in lost moments, and it's challenging. SOmewhat luck based, but also with the possibility of a "tactic". Anyway, 5/5. But I don't see how the gold voucher works? It gives you a shitload of money, but how much?
I love all these art games. And the gameplay is simple and fun, not too long and stuff. Exactly right. I was going to give it 4/5 but i gave 5/5 for the happy end! =D It's a nice "twist" (or un-twist, haha).
It's fun, but also a bit easy, if it wasn't for the lag....
It's easy until 800, which then creates a HUUGE difficulty spike due to being unable to steer for like... 1 second every 3 seconds... XD
And it seems i'm not the only one. Dunno what this is, but it seems to be the game, and not my pc/internet, since I see more people complaining...
Still 4/5 though, since it's quite a fun game and you listen to your people and stuff. Not bad.
I think it's quite annoying that both armies get a turn at the same time. Now countries that get "wiped out" will shift along the map and you'll often be just a turn too late to crush them.
When you call your game Box Clever, make it a puzzle game, at least. Not a platformer.
Plus, awful mechanics. Plus, annoyingly long levels that don't even provide any new elements.
Just... terrible. 1/5
(And I don't give 1/5 easily).
So genious! And SO FRIGGIN' HARD! I tried so many combinations. It took me 4 tries even to think of taking water from somewhere ELSE than the village. Now i'm stuck again. It says "good" in stead of "great" for getting the potion. HOW THE HELL CAN I BE FASTER... yeah, don't tell me. I want to find out myself. :P
Best puzzle I've played in a while. 5/5
Fire Hazard? Isn't that supposed to say fire lizard? But great game anyway. Keeps you looking for that one spot that you are supposed to know.
Never had one level yet where I couldn't progress with certainty, but still very challenging. 5/5!
Please insert better collision detection? And how about a reset button? I think 3/5. It was an okay game, but it has a lot of things that make me scream in frustration (and not about my inabilities, but about the mechanics)
That's strange, but you're not the first person to say that. Did you try turning the backgrounds off?
