Love the concept. The upgrades are well balanced and just enough to feel a measurable difference from one level to the next, but not so much that it made the game too easy.
Wow, what kind of ethics board passed this experiment? Anyway, nice take on a simple concept. Would like to see more upgrades, but like the idea that we can learn from our mistakes.
If you feel stuck in the green section, the upgrade on camera 15 is reachable. You just have to perfect a certain jump skill you'll have acquired by then if you explore enough.
Clearly I'm missing something. I seem to be stuck in the green area. I've got the dash and crouch, but no crouch slide and no water resist. I've restarted a couple of times and I just can't seem to get that missing piece.
As quiuquio said, for the final boss, you can hide in the gap between a horn and one of the cannons for a safe zone if you would rather have ez mode for the fight. In fact, the body of the boss doesn't harm you if you bump into it, and the cannons cannot rotate 360, so once you find the safe spot, you can grab a cup of coffee or something and watch the fight happen.
While it is frustrating to have people quit in multiplayer mode, putting in an Auto Win on Opponent Quitting function has the potential to be abused. Someone could have his friend pop on and quit repeatedly to skew his stats. To prevent this, multiplayer would have to be restricted to random encounters.
If you're going for the badge, don't look at your time. It'll just make you panic. Don't worry too much about what exactly you're drawing, just connect the dots steadily and avoid having to restart.
I guess I would add that, as a non-racer, one approach is to adjust immediately for the next checkpoint once lined up for the one you're about to go through.
I'm not really a racing fan, but I tried to like this. The trouble I had was with the insane drifting. I guess that's part of the "sandstorm". I'll be in 1st and then one little swerve will throw the entire race.
Note to those restarting the game if you've missed a shot -- your accuracy can actually go above 100%, as double and triple kills/shots count as two- and three-for-ones, which yields a lot of accuracy bonus. Just a tip if the easy badge is seeming a bit rough.
Very cute game -- the frantic music when you're running out of health is great. I was just badge hopping and found this and it's making me stick around for much longer than just grabbing the easy badge.
