"Your level 16 Ranger killed himself in the Vault of Yendor"
From a reflected auto-attack, from full HP with Resistance.
I'm so heckin done, dude. Honestly screw this RNG, it's not even about skill anymore.
Even after having beaten the game, I still stand by my opinion that it's infuriatingly frustrating. Finding proper items and building up a character is a challenge enough, but having it all wiped out by a random BS crit death from full hp just kinda kills the desire to play again. I hear the whole RNG argument, but I'm not spending another 40 minutes to get killed by some sh*t I couldn't have possibly predicted.
Nevermind. I thought it's all legends, but apparently it's true: If you complain hard enough, RNG rolls in your favour. Beat the game the exact try after I posted the complaint. As a fire mage. With an ice staff. Woot.
It's not enough that the game is frustrating as hell should you lose your survivors + the round. Above that, game has no save feature, so when it bugged out and wouldn't let me select weapons, I had to start all over.
Bravo.
Wheelman, when I said "maxed out", I meant maxed out. Including the star upgrades. It's just that I've watched walkthroughs on YouTube and the Dutchman's HP was "3000", not "30000", so I assume something went amiss. I did, however, by a lucky twist of fate, manage to beat the boss cause he missed most shots. After like 15 attempts, that is
Yep, on several restarts the Dutchman's HP was still 30k, I'd manage to dynamite him down to 10k before he'd annihilate my maxed out fleet. Game's impossible to beat.
