I think this is a wonderful demo. I know that some people don't exactly like to pay for a flash game, but the price is only five dollars, and if you really enjoy the game, you're helping the developer pay their bills for content you enjoy. I personally am going to refrain, as games with a story so closely innertwined to the gameplay that once the story fades (at the end) the magic fades, and even for 5 dollars I'd like something I will continue to play after the story ends.
@xMoordeanaar I recommend a barrage of ballista towers in the beginning. As long as nothing auto hits it, such as the Arrow dens or the Demonic shrines, then every ballista tower in range will fire, which will hit it before and after it cloaks. Fire off 4 meteors, and have an evil eye/beholders tower waiting at the end for it. The extra damage will apply to your final meteor. One or both will help you pass high-health ninjas.
I've experienced a few bugs concerning the soldiers I command. The first is when I have them clustered next to each other, one group will engage the enemy while the other hangs back, where the idea is they attack simultaneously. Very rarely, but still notable because this happens to make me lose, my soldier in the same squad will stack on each other, causing them to all attack the same enemy - even if there are others walking past this stacked group. I can only confirm this once or twice, as those times I noticed enemies walking right past the stacked group as one died, and no enemy moved from a possible enemy stack that could explain my stack.
@livold: The hardest part of the game is the beginning. Try to get the 3rd loot item on any adventure before going on the to the next one, and I'd recommend buying the essence upgrades right off the bat, especially the energy upgrade.
In a sequel, because there should be one, there should definitely be a map maker, and a way to share these maps, high rated ones into a Player Pack, and go from there. Wonderful game.
To anyone who thinks Rebuild should have the #1 spot over this, I understand. They are both great games. CT is a TD game, but the different land types for the different towers adds a whole new twist to the genre. Rebuild, on the other hand, is a beautifully done Zombie Survival game, taking into consideration food, disease, scouting, and 4 ending that you strive for. My personal vote is this game, simply because it has taken tower defense from just 'Place SuperMonkey here' to 'No, only a crypt can go there. Go find some forest, you orcs.' Rebuild is a wonderful game, believe me, but I find more potential in this game than Rebuild. (And if anyone says either is perfect, you are mistaken.)
