Game is really quite impressive. Good music, nice graphics, not ridiculously difficult but really challenging if you're trying to perfect on hard. Never had any issues with bugs or upgrade costs, key is to focus on one weapon and not spread around if you don't like replaying levels. (And homing is the win button). 5/5 for me, nice to see another Unity game that's a good game and not just a 3D showcase.
Aaah, the memories of X-Com are strong here. =D Very fun game, nothing like the feeling you get when you complete the mission with the troopers you have holding of the aliens on their last clips. Would never have known it was your first game if you hadn't said it, easy 5/5.
This game reminds me a lot of the old Simtower game. So, I'm going to steal a suggestion from it: stairs. Basically, they work like elevators, only people will only use them to get to the second and third floors. They'll use them over a long wait in an elevator though. Part of the problem with "build more elevators" is people have to use the same elevators to get to rooms as the do all the attractions - this way you could cluster food/entertainment/services on the second and third floors and ease traffic. Still, a very good game - definitely a 4/5, and could easily become a 5/5 with some tweaks.
Currently my character has a blue hood, black armor, bright green boots, red gloves, a silver shield, and a glowing purple sword. Clearly the reason I am slaughtering my enemies is because they are too busy laughing at my appearance. *curses the well-dressed-yet-easily-killed enemies*
Quite a fun escape game. For anyone wondering what the Manual of the Void actually says...
"This is the void it is a virtual reality simulation, I am your helper David type in your commands and I will do your bidding. David, I have given you the codes to the safe."
Maxcrouch, after you progress a little bit into the story, you'll be awarded the "scout" talent which gives you information about each wave. When you mouse over each wave icon on the battle map, it should show their health, armor, and a few other things in addition to how many enemies (under AMT). I'm not completely sure, but I believe it is the "scout the area" mission from the Legion of Tyria that awards it. I would definitely like to be able to sell units though, maybe for 50% initial cost. You could even have a talent that increases the cash back from selling.
Sigh. After countless attempts I've given up on the hard badge. It seems to be about 95% luck and 5% skill. If you're not within a few squares of a large farm, laboratory, and hospital, don't even try. You can get fairly far if you get a starting location with those, but... Your survivors WILL riot rather than try to survive. Not to mention the endless amounts of other random events that kill off people on a regular basis, and the seeming joy the game takes in making sure you lose the worst possible people and buildings at the worst possible times. This game shines its best at normal and hard, going any higher seems to take the challenge of expanding correctly and managing your base and replace it with blind luck. Still an excellent game, but I wish the higher difficulties were better balanced.
Meteor strike is just scary. Hits everything around you with no miss chance, and can be used almost nonstop. After clearing out my starting desert and a few of the trade republic's weaker camps, I steamrolled the entire game without needing any troops, with the exception of the Trade Republic's capital (too many archers) and two of the Far East Empire's major cities (dang Shogun Ghosts...). If you want to quickly get the hard badge, Diana is the character to pick, though it does take some of the fun out of the game.
By far one of the best games on the site I've played. The gameplay is nice, and I'll admit I've always been a sucker for shooters of this time, whether top-down or side scrollers. The fact that it's got solid shooter mechanics and a pretty good RPG leveling/upgrade system were real pluses. However, it's the story, characters, and backgrounds that make it great. It's rare to see this much effort go into making a flash game's story, and it really shows. I really connected with several of the characters, and you did a great job of developing several of them throughout the game. Without spoiling anything, several moments were honestly quite moving, something rare in a flash game. The soundtrack was also a real plus, though nothing approached the sheer epicness of the "final battle" music. One of the few I'm still playing after I got all the badges, and will probably still be playing for quite a while. I can't stop. T_T All in all, an easy 5/5. Oh, and Deadeye FTW.
Game is really nice, but it's also got some bugs. It's laggy and crashes altogether every now and then. Level two is also completely red, you can't see anything at all. Would be an easy 5/5 if the issues were fixed.
The random events on the higher difficulties are pretty ridiculous. By day 17 I had lost every soldier I had to a random nutball climbing the walls and knifing them, a zombie bite, pneumonia, and their clueless decision to wander off alone and take a leak. Oh, and my leader died of dysentery on the fifth day. Pretty much impossible at that point. And naturally there wasn't a single hospital in a 16-square radius... =( The game is really fun on normal though, now that I've given up on that badge.
Beat the helicopter boss, and then get stuck with 'undefined' weapons so I can't shoot. Didn't get very far after that killing everything with the lead pipe. It'd be a great game if it worked right.
Worldedit, the Corrupter is on the 9th level after you kill everything else on the level.
BTW, bit of advice (SPOILERS): If you have any kind of attack that drains enemy energy, hit him with that first. If he has enough energy, his first move will be a spell that makes hostile clones of your entire party.
