Once there was a poor boy named Jonathan. When he was very young he met the princess Aranabeth. They played together every day and as they grew older they fell in love. When Jonathan was sixteen, he went off to war. Before he left, he and Aranabeth promised that when he came home, they would marry. So Jonathan went off and was gone a very long time. When he came home, he saw that Aranabeth had married a handsome young prince named Edwin. When he discovered this, he was outraged. He took Aranabeth and Edwin and locked them up. He made them slaves and had them build his fortress by hand. Aranabeth wondered why her father the king had not yet come for her. Then one day, she saw Jonathan come home, dragging her dead father. She knew that there was no hope of ever being rescued. So she asked Jonathan, "Why have you done this? I thought you loved me!" He replied, "That's what I thought too. It turns out that's not important. Appearently money is more important."
