I'd like to see, in some future update, the ability to reload with a right-click. That's the only thing I've found so far I could call an improvement; the game is solid as it is, fairly addictive and lots of fun to play. Some things hidden in each map could be a fun addition, though... Something you shoot X number of times to break in order to retrieve an extra Star, a big pile of coins, a unique gun upgrade, or even a special gun.
I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this. Simple, straight forward, with a pleasant story that- GASP!!!- is NOT filled with pointless tragedy thrown in as pseudo-motivation for the protagonist. The writing is good, and NO typos, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. The music is smooth and soothing, and not too intrusive. If it continued, perhaps in an episodic fashion, I would enjoy seeing where the story goes.
I really want to like this game, I do, but... I just can't. The game feels like it was rushed into release before it was ready. My primary problem is that the dialogue is painful to read. The writing is very spotty; in places I feel like parts of the conversation are missing, or the characters are half asleep and not paying attention to the conversation. In a more technical sense the dialogue is lacking in spelling, punctuation, and grammar. There was either no proof-reading, poor proof-reading, or no fixing of the problems found. I honestly cannot finish the game because of how frustrating it is to read the dialogue.
That being said, I'm also not rating the game yet; I didn't finish it, so any rating wouldn't be fair. If- as I'm hoping, after reading the many positive comments about the game- it gets updated, with a little polish on the dialogue, then I'll give it another try.
I kind of like the game, and am looking forward to seeing what it becomes as it grows and evolves. It obviously still has some rough edges (the combat menu usage feels a little stilted, for example) but shows a lot of promise over-all. Personally, the change I'd most like to see is to have the movement keys get a WASD option added... Using the mouse feels very unnatural to the game, IMO, and the arrow keys on my laptop are placed extremely awkwardly for gaming, lol.
Hi!
We will try to add WASD movement. The game focuses on arrows for movement because accept/cancel buttons on the keyboard are X and Z, so it wouldn't make much sense to have also WASD, and then everything would be on the same side :)
We will try to add WASD for the people confirming things with the mouse that still want to move with direct control though :)
I've given up trying to play this. Five consecutive days I've logged in, used my offline earnings to upgrade, played for a while, manually save... Log in the next day to find EVERYTHING I did the previous day is gone. After a week of this, I'm done. Maybe I'll give it another try if it ever gets working better... :S
It would be nice to be able to see how long a Quest will take before starting it. Putting the duration in the information box, where prerequisites are listed, would be good. Shouldn't be hard to implement, either.
Tip for those that haven't learned it yet: Know how you can't use the same craft material on an item twice? Well, turns out you actually CAN. All you need is two of your material, 55 MP, and the Transmute spell, and you can apply the same effect twice when crafting! Simply Transmute one of your two Materials (25 MP) but not the other; the game counts it as two different item types- one a normal item, and one an artifact. They can each be selected for a slot when you upgrade. This lets you, for just one example, double up bonuses for Fractal Cabbage to give an item much better Mana regen at early to mid levels.
