Sometimes a match is decided by luck, but most of the time people bitch about luck, it's because of a buff/debuff that is being used to manipulate the odds.
With the incredible amount of free healing available throughout the Campaign (I played Den of Corruption), the fastest teams are the ones that output the most damage (4x Rogue was awesome because of the Hide -> Pierce combo)
"So what if this is based on DTD's concept? If it's better, it's a worthy game. 1. Question to everybody shouting that this sucks cause it's a ripoff from DTD: do you guys only like wolfenstein 3D (the first shoot'em up), Command and Conquer 1 (the first RTS), and Final Fantasy 1 (yes the NES game, the first RPG). Cause every game in those genres is basically a 'ripoff' from the original, if I take your point of view. So dont rate a game bad without forming a decent well informed opinion on it."
Agreed, 5/5
Now You're a Man
Dude! You just completed the Now You're a Man achievement in Protector: Reclaiming the Throne and won the Now You're a Man badge and 30 points!
If you can make it to the first boss with three lives, you can get the point achievements. Just load up the hardest difficulty, and spend the first sections of the boss's life accumulating his power. If you fill up, you should be able to kill every form from a safe zone before he can hit you with his chain ball.
Also, in Normal difficulty, your units will beat your opponent's units 1v1, however, it gives you more money for killing an enemy unit than it costs to buy a new one.
At first glance it felt like a much better game than it is. Winning is easy, just stall with a combination to turrets and cheap units until your Ion Cannons go up, then bring on the Super Soldiers. But that is the only way I can find to win, I simply can't do enough damage through a turret defense without the Super Soldiers, and everything up to that point is largely just sitting back and cooking enemies with your turrets.
It wasn't too difficult but was innovative and enjoyable. If you're having trouble, try going on the offensive earlier and wait for them to attack (they send away defenders) before capturing territories.
I just beat it, but had a hell of a time on the last level because my rockets always missed. I found that if I hold the mouse button until the rocket hit, that it always took out the target.
