I clicked on the 5th weapon slot with the Tactician, wich has a maximum of 4 weapons, and it let me buy an extra weapon but the weapon icon doesn't show, just the upgrade lvl.

paid or not i love this game! i like doing old levels again to max all my weapons just for the curiosity of what will they do at level 10
