Wasn't there supposed to be an update to make defense upgrades actually useful? Because I don't see it; no matter how many points I put into them, I still get one shotted by anything that gets close.
Pretty fun, but I was completely disappointed by the plot; especially the ending. The whole "You're playing an alien life form. He finds stuff that comes from Earth. Oh no! Earth is destroyed!" gag is far too overplayed these days. Seriously, it'd only take me fifteen minutes to find a dozen other games with nearly the same plot.
Using Kongregate's Kred system to sell the full game... An intriguing idea, if a little against the spirit of the thing. Still, other games have used it to nickle and dime players with in-game purchases; at least you guys are offering the full game for a flat fee upfront, rather than trying to trick people out of their money. I applaud you sirs for your honesty as well as your ingenuity.
This game is impossible; the learning curve is brutal, your starting weapon is useless and takes ten seconds of sustained fire to kill anything, your thrown up against people with weapons that can kill you in one shot right from the start, and the lag is horrendous. One of the worst games I've yet played on Kongregate.
This is a terrible game. The hit detection is questionable, the damage any particular weapon deals is inconsistent, and there are severe connection issues. All that -- plus a rampant cheating problem -- means that this is a game that can barely be considered playable, let alone good. One out of Five.
In order to have any hope of completing hard mode you must sell your Fighter Bay as soon as the game begins, and devote the majority of your funds to your main gun and the Repair Bay.
The controls in this game are very unreliable. I find that several times when I think I have entered in the command for a particular move, the move simply won't work. The computer opponent doesn't have the same problem however, as it continually spams special moves over and over again. The characters also seem to be unbalanced, with certain characters strength over others only offset by the complexity of the button sequences required to pull off their moves. A design decision which does not affect the effectiveness of the AI with the characters at all. It's not a terrible game by any stretch of the imagination, but I think it could have benefited greatly from more beta testing. 2/5
This is just a short review, but I thought this was a very creative game. I especially like that there was no sound in the game except for the 'I Am Your Moon' ending, as it enhanced the atmosphere and overall melancholy feel of that scene. Ultimately a great experience, and I hope the designer makes more thoughtful and artistic games.
