Firefox keeps everything in one process, so that it doesn’t hog turns for execution time on the cpu. Chrome makes a new process for every new tab, extension, or plugin running, hogging time on the cpu, making 7 tabs and any other app open slow down your computer. Firefox leaks memory much less often. Chrome’s many processes leak memory all the time. Firefox is fully open source – chrome is not. Chrome likes to for some reason AUTOMATICALLY update to an unstable/experimental and unreleased version of Abode Flash when it is available, which has made complications for users in the past.

The latest version of Firefox is really the same speed or faster than Chrome, and if it is slower, barely.

BUT, in the end, it all comes down to personal preference and whatever works best for your system and how you use it. Firefox’s resource management is better for people how have many apps and tabs open at a time and use their computers for work, and its tab grouping feature really helps here. Chrome is better for the person who uses their computer mainly to browse around the internet, and doesn’t need many tabs at a time.
