When will I ever learn? lol But, I might give tech a note telling them they should program their message notification method to include responses. Thanks a bunch for your kind words regarding my “insightful set of posts”. As always, one should consider the source of compliments and complaints; but, your appraisal does rate high because this source has been the source of some very spectacular sharing on the forum. That you ended w/ “friend” is, for me, one of the highest compliments one can give to somebody. However, before ya think I’m wanting to do the knife-cut on the palm and “mingle blood”, know that I understand there are at least two levels of “friendship”. lol Still, the reason I took the time to make those posts is because I consider you to be a BBF — (best board friend). It took me quite along time to translate the “God works in mysterious ways; and, it’s God’s will” to be cryptic for: there’s been a load of compromising on the road to my horizon (Glen Campbell’s Rhinestone Cowboy). That kind of misleading by religion is one of the huge factors for my finding religion to be not for me. I also detest giving a kid some forms of over-blown hope by telling them: you can be anything you want to be; you just have to work hard enough. Or, the gung-ho: failure is not an option. That kind of crap is most detrimental to those of superlative abilities who almost go crazy trying to totally embrace it. Those of us who have “lesser ability” tend to learn rather early on that such just ain’t in the cards for us. lol It’s taken a lot of true soul searching for me to fully embrace the concept of how failure affects the positive in my life. Reading a little book, The Prophet (it’s on line), was most influential for me. Before the Internet, I would gift a book of it to most all I felt could/would benefit from reading it. This was esp. true for grad gifts for high schoolers. show less

And, sure enough, my writing it DID exceed the 2100 limit … by THREE. I had to put a lot of effort to emend my stellar text to find three characters I felt it could lose. lol Anyway, take this post to be in the same spirit you (hopefully) used to inform me that I “only used ellipses at the end of sentences”. I’m not even sharing this as a defense from my eclectic writing style. It’s more likely a simple explanation of why I use ellipses as I do. My good net-buddy, Grammar Girl, has this to say: “So, it is allowable to use ellipses to indicate pauses or breaks in the writer’s train of thought as you see so frequently done in e-mail, especially where a break is meant to feel uncertain. Nevertheless (and this is a BIG nevertheless) most people who use ellipses in e-mail overdo it—a lot. – See more at: http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/ellipses?page=1#sthash.yA9XQGZJ.dpuf” She has something to say about quote marks which tends to coincide w/ my use of them: “Double quotation marks can also be used sometimes to indicate that a word is special in some way. I bet you’ve all seen quotation marks used as something called scare quotes, which are quotation marks put around a word to show that the writer doesn’t buy into the meaning.” My use of them falls mostly in the “indicate the word is special in some way” in that I well understand the foibles of the written text and how it so fails to capture in-person speech; and, that such words in quotes may very well be taken by the reader to mean something (entirely?) different than what I meant. It’s just a little head’s-up that the word in quotes should be taken w/ a grain-0-salt. Damn, this one went over the limit. Here’s comes a 3rd post. lol show less

And, I highly doubt they previously used it because it tends to be of my “invention”. . . meaning both that I’m not exactly someone who would likely be emulated on the forum and that most ppl weren’t writing that way for some time after my joining Kong. Okay, enough of me being a grammar Nazi. Should we not talk before “next year”, I want to wish you the all the best for the coming year. Oct 18, 2015 8:19pm How do you believe that being a dwarf and disabled has affected you mentally and attitudinally? Has it affected your outlook on life? As both a dwarf and disabled person, what offends you more than anything? How frequently and to what degree do you face discrimination and prejudice based on your conditions? Please describe.

This means that he has an understanding of religion as personal allegory and inspiration instead of a literalistic all-encompassing rule book for life. I have begun to refer to this affectionately as Tribalism. I have grown up around churches and religion that have informed my life and choices while never personally believing in the literal interpretations that seem so important for the majority. This tribalism might be comparable to the early founding fathers’ deism, but isn’t exactly analogous. This means he could be either be a subjective theist or an atheist, but it is irrelevant to the objective masses to which he agrees with all of the same morals and cultural values associated to religion. This video helps to illustrate my point more clearly [Ignore the title]: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE55I_nf2J4 show less

Its just, well, you asked such a broad question, in order to answer it properly, I’m looking at a dissertation-level paper, wordage of around 5k+. I don’t mind doing the work, if I’m going to get serious responses back. Its just lately, this forum is more full of trolls and immature wotsits than anything else. As to the ‘empire of consumption’, here’s a nasty little titbit for you. If you subscribe to Kuezweil’s work and theories, we have passed the point of no return for our civilisation. That is to say, there are not enough resources left for a civilisation after us, to rise beyond our current level. They could possibly equal us with a ceramics tech based society, but that’s it. Essentially, this is our one-shot chance. If we fail to develop beyond a single planet civilisation this time round, we’ll never have another chance. show less
