I'll admit, I didn't read the instructions properly and thusly got through the first level without having punched a single thing - I thought you had to goomba stomp the little guys to get past them. Really glad that it was possible to make it through without punching all the same! Opportunity for a second badge potentially? Pacifist run or Non-lethal weapon would be the badge title options I'd go for :)
I liked the game but I was a bit disappointed after struggling so hard to get the game controller stat and spamming it only to realise it decreased your stats. Might be interesting to have it as a means to level up secret stat that you only find out about after purchasing it for the first time, giving it meaning so players of your game don't avoid spending on it entirely but that you have to earn points back for balance.
Not sure if the devs are still reading the comments but just a few pieces of food for thought :)
I love that you used Unity by TheFatRat as the music for the first save screen :) What an awesome song.
The solution to this installment in the series was much more logical than ones I've played in the past and I really enjoyed that in this.
I was initially disappointed when I found out that this game had been made Badge of the day again. The last time I tried to play the game was very glitchy and pretty much unplayable; but I thought I would give it another go to see if the game had been improved and I was pleasantly surprised. :) Good job, developers.
I thought this game was super charming. Love games like this where you need to get clever with things that seamlessly blend into your surroundings in order to progress. For a while I was thinking that I needed to give the giant/ hairy troll a back scratch in order to build up a static electricity charge in order to fix the machine but in the end I'm not even upset that there wasn't /really/ a reason to scratch his back other than to make him feel good and happy. I adored that ending too, what a great game. It filled me with warm and fuzzy feelings 5/5 (P.S. *Spoiler warning* Only thing that I think could make this game better would be if there was a way we could make up for standing on the water monster's head :) )
Great game :) Had a nice logical flow but the last puzzle got me a bit stumped even though I knew what I was supposed to accomplish. So many Doctor Who references could be drawn from this (Not sure if they were intentional or not) hehehe. Keep up the great work developers ^_^
For those who've completed the game and haven't been awarded the badge; just submit a missing achievement report. All you have to do is take a screenshot of the final screen once you've finished it, making sure you can see your username in the top right corner (Above the Chat/ Game/ Achievements panel) and just let them know that it's missing. The Kongregate team are friendly and really quick about it. I finished the game last night and submitted the achievement missing report and they sorted it out while I slept. Don't stress! :)
@dgieedelman To get rid of the SoGood.com ad, just click the "Play Now" button. It doesn't take you to another site.
Also, nice game, developers :) I really enjoyed the game mechanics and the art-style and also how you had the choice of either being nice to the boy or mean (I went nice and he called me a Nice lady after, I'm guessing that if you're mean to him is response changes? :) )
5/5 Please make more of these, I'm interested to see what you would do with the other cages, that where I'm guessing you'll go if you continue this as a series? :)
5 minute game? More like 5 seconds.
I'd killed the boss before I even saw what it looked like :P Nice graphics but maybe build up to the big boss battle with a couple of smaller levels to space the game out a bit more.
Ended up stuck in a perpetual journey to the town of Ducklette from Doxinark. On the 7th day of travel and still haven't reached the town apparently despite the cursor sitting on the town for the past 5 days. Maybe one suggestion would be to provide an option to recouperate while in transit between towns if you stop. There's nothing more annoying than being on a horse, coming across a buccaneer who's travelling on foot and finding out, not only can you not flee from him, despite having the advantage of being on a horse but also having to fight when you're on 9 health because of battles you've been forced to endure because the voyage to Ducklette never seems to end.
Nice game otherwise, took me a little while to figure out that the main way you're supposed to get money is via trading resources between towns rather than by quests.
The challenge level is in dire need of checkpoints.
I liked the game mechanics and it's a good concept for a game overall but the challenge was way too frustratingly difficult to not have at least a couple of checkpoints.
Fantastic game :) I really enjoyed the progression of the story/ game, everything led into the next step in a logical way. I got really invested in the story and adore the characters ^_^ I'm definitely looking forward to playing the next chapter :)
Is that a Doctor Who, or more specifically, Weeping Angels reference in the diary page for August 5th, 1887? Wretched Sculptures, stalking in the darkness, crunches, flapping wings, frozen paroxysms, and last but not least, an impossible struggleto get back the life they never had! Then the reference to putting them in the greenhouse (In Blink the one at the house was out in a greenhouse-ish garden.) Great game series btw :)
Great game, I did get stuck in this at a couple of points but got through it in the end, good logical progression :) ...And the name of the badge absolutely kills me :') Ahahahahaha
The game didn't load at first but I'm glad it decided to because I love the little quips in it :') The guy who jumped out of a window because his lover's wife got home and the hipster Grandma who got third degree burns because she drank coffee before it was cool :') Good on you developers hahaha :')
Fantastic game developers btw :) Thoroughly enjoyed it, for the fact that you didn't have to guess or use any fancy tactics to work through it and that there was always at least one point that logically led to the next. Thank you for making this, please keep it up :)
For those wondering what the hint button does;
If you click on it and then click on one of the squares in the puzzle, it will reveal the correct answers for the surrounding 9 squares (E.g. If it's coloured or clear). From what I can tell, these squares will stay permanently correct so that you can't accidentally unclick them and I'm pretty sure the hint is limited to once per game for those curious :)
It's impossible to get through the first part of Chapter 2. The game provides no time to get out between the blocks after having blown the circular smoke.. Great concept otherwise. Would have loved to have finished the game if I could get past that bit..
Ha ha! Thanks for your comment. The video game thing was a mean joke, sorry. :)
