The only thing I find to be no fun is finishing the rest of the zombies off after a mission - otherwise it's the most fun flash shooter/zombie game I've played on Kong so far.
Just a bad game design in my honest opinion. Not only do upgrades scale with each other which results in distance scaling exponentially off of money, but money also scales with your past distance. Thus if you miss any upgrade you could've gotten in the early levels, you may as well restart the whole game because it's going to snowball into a dilemma anyway.
if you want to get the badges, just go the warrior route, do combat training all the time, get the stables job and do the dungeons early, you can easily get all the badges with more than a year of time left like that
the game itself is great but more savepoints are really needed considering how long it takes to kill enemies in epic mode with sword changing, keeping buffs up, etc.
with more save points i'd also slightly increase the difficulty though, directly starting with epic and not even having read the tutorial i was directly able to get to the first save point and then to the second on my second attempt
getting to the end, however, is really annoying since you need to really know the bosses' abilities beforehand (instagib anyone?) to get through safely and having to do the same 30 minutes all over again is really painful
