The simple fact of the matter is this: all of you complaining about the developers of this game and how they should remove the token system, take it offline, etc... they're not going to do it. Why? The simple fact that the developers of this game do not (insert expletive here) care about their players. All they want is for those simple-minded drones who want to be at the top of everything to constantly spend their money (hard earned or not) on this game: and they will. I doubt any of them have even looked at the comments here since this was uploaded.
I have lost count how many times this flash game has brought tears to my eyes. The characters, the story, and especially the words at the end (all endings) are just so beautiful. Only one game has touched my heart and pulled at my emotions just as much as this simple (relatively speaking) flash game did... and that was Final Fantasy VII, regarded by many as the best video game of all time (I know that's a VERY generic comment). Out of all the games I've liked on Kongregate this is the only one I have added to my favorites; as it's the only one that I have wanted to remember. Xdanond, you have made a game that will live in the hearts and minds of many people for many years to come. It will certainly be in mine, as will your words at each ending this game has.
TL;DR: Best game on Kongregate, if not in existence right now. 10/5!
Got to love getting Beholder Spammed a minute into a match by the AI, right? Don't get me wrong, this game is great minus the incredible balance issues. The game does not follow its own rules or gives the AI a tremendous amount of resources at the beginning of each match, allowing them to spawn literally anything they want. This desperately needs to be fixed, but then again, I suppose that would make this game easy if the AI couldn't cheat.
As fun as the game is when things go good for you, it is in desperate need of balancing. The AI clearly doesn't follow the resource rule (as many have pointed out) and it leads to imbalanced rushes at the beginning of every match which can drop you to less than 50% Portal Life in one go because they sent out a spam of powerful units. Archers and Mages are incredibly overpowered, especially when used together, the only counter is to use BETTER mages and archers or just wait for them to hit your portal (or vise versa). All in all, while the game is fun, it has a lot of problems that detract from it. An update on the issues here and the others in the top comments would make this a 5/5. However, as of right now it's a 3/5 for me.
Pretty good game. The music and sound effects can get a little annoying after a while, but thankfully that's what the mute button is for. It's a rather interesting mix of genres and I think it has been pulled off rather well. One problem I've been running into (and this is probably just because I can't multitask very well) is that it's hard to keep track of your heroes health bars while working the Switch Grid. I also think you should add health bars above allied and enemy units so we know how much damage we're actually doing. Numbers mean little if we don't have a 'progress bar' so to speak.
Am I the only anime nerd that noticed that the sound that plays for when Network does his bolt is the same as a Cero from Bleach? XD
Anyways, the game was epic, the artwork was beautiful, and the story was amazing. This is definitely going to make me go play the first two games to get the entire thing. You did an amazing job of making a sequel that could be followed as a stand-alone game. 5/5!
I don't know if I should be scared or amused that my most powerful mage (currently) is named Harry Potter... Anyways, great game. However, this one does certainly take time to beat, and that's not just because of the difficulty. Definitely could use a fast forward button, but I know that was installed in the later version of this game.
The only problem I seem to be having is that Poison ticks through shields like the one you get from Life-Stream. Has killed me more times than you can imagine. I don't know if it was intended to do that or not, but despite all that this is an incredibly good game. 5/5 and justly deserved praise.
