First off, I want you to think of all the music, songs and sounds you enjoy.
What if one day you woke up not being able to hear those ever again.
What if…. You woke up deaf? its things like this we take for granted. But when we are about to (or have) lose/lost them, we don’t want to(E.G. close to death, we don’t want to die usually).
I’m not trying to say we should get close to losing these things, I’m saying we shouldn’t laugh at those who had.

Here is a scenario and a question.
Let’s say you are a male in his 20s-30s who never knew his father because he died before you were born. So you went back in time before his wedding to see him, but you didn’t bring a disguise. After searching a bit you heard someone coming up a flight of stairs. You turned to see who it was, it just so happen to be your father. but when he saw you he fainted(Due to you looking exactly like him), so he fell down the stairs injuring himself then was taken to a hospital where he died. So you took his place at the wedding(no one knew it was his son because you too looked exactly the same). Two months later you became ill, before you died you realized that your son was going to be you. A couple days later you died.

Now question time, if you became your father, who was your father to make it so that you were born to go back in time to become your father in the first place?
