I worry about the physics of this game... Somehow my ball can get stuck on top of ledges and even fly through blocks!
On the menus, it seems to lag extremely badly (but framerates are fine in-game).
There is only one pinball track you can play on, so overall this game needs a lot of work - but the ideas are there.
Brilliant. Some minor adjustments are required: Please inform the player that they keep their upgrades on death! I didn't know this at first, and spent ages dying in the first 10 seconds thinking that my ship was terrible. Despite this, the game is brilliant!
Hmmm...
Needs a lot of work before this game will be remotely good. The game is extremely laggy, the physics is all wrong and it doesn't feel professionally made which is why I go on Kongregate after all. I don't mind newbies having a go with some code, just don't release it on a website like this until you think that people will actively want to play this.
And please, write your code in a proper coding environment, not some weird premade website thing like this.
1/5
Good fun, but definitely needs improvement if you want to see more people playing your game. An options menu is needed AS A MINIMUM, but other feature are also required for that replay-ability factor that you are trying to achieve.
Other suggestions: Make Armageddon mode slightly easier! For me (a bog standard player) this is way too difficult. Alternatively, make more options about the difficulty. Secondly, An upgrades system would be nice (possibly a menu for that too?). General improvement needed, but some things are good; there is potential! I give it at the moment 3/5.
As long as you can only change Sounds and Music playing, a settings menu is not needed (I guess). I don't want to add an upgrade menu/system because Galaxy Defender is a pure shooter, not a shooter-rpg. The Armageddon mode is hard, deal with it.
Conceptually, this game is a great idea. The idea of bosses, exp and upgrades are brilliant, however there are some notable problems. To start off with, the window size for the game is too small. Try having a bigger screen, so that you can place more blocks on there. Secondly, the idea of a 'speed' button (shift) is useless with a small screen, or even if you use the mouse as a controller. Also, the graphics may need some improvement. The black and white background is only alright if you don't also have translucent black and white bricks! I suggest lowering or getting rid of the transparency for clarity. Please continue to improve (like better upgrades/achievements) so that the game has maximum impact.
Waited for years to see this on Kong, and now it is. I don't care how much I fail at it, or how annoying those falling pandas with parachutes are. Still a beautiful, beautiful game.
I Update It Weekly. I just Created It So It Does Need Some More Work. Thanks For the Feedback.
