The other two heroes are ridiculously weak compared to the axe hero. The archer either runs away the whole fight or dies instantly because the aggro AI is terrible
My trouble with this game is that every decision is immensely permanent and any wrong decision can set you back hugely. You can't change anything once you've done it, like buying a weapon or applied skill points.
