Without knowing what consoles you use my no. 1 recommendation is The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth. It’s made by the same guy who made Meat Boy (it’s a very different game though).

Woah Dave! is good if you like old-school, arcade style games. Volgarr the Viking is a brutal retro throwback. Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark, Catherine, and Ms. ’Splosion Man are hard/challenging games with more modern styles of gameplay.
The original Fallout and Hotline Miami are also difficult games I recommend. Bit.trip runner 2 can offer a decent challenge. Bayonetta will test you skills on it’s harder difficulties.
OlliOll2 might just be the hardest game I’ve ever played. I’m two levels away from beating it and I just can’t make it past the second to last level. The amount of deaths I’ve had in that level outnumber all the deaths I’ve had in any other game I’ve played combined. I’m dead serious.
Some more iffy titles are Rouge Legacy and Mutant Mudds Deluxe. They’ll provide you with a challenge, but I don’t think they are particularly good games. You might think otherwise though.
