Come on, Kongregate. It's sad that you have stooped tp this. So many badges are the crap games with p2w mechanics or they don't even work.
Who are you even kidding anymore? I've been playing on this site for years, and the games you give badges now are just a joke and an insult.
This game is pretty bad. Dialogue doesn't make sense. I missed the gun and ammo after getting rescued and couldn't move backwards through the 20 doors in their hideout, so I had to try to fight everything off with my wrench.
Wait, you made a single push of the "c" button clear my progress? Why would you do that without some kind of confirmation. I had randomly been switching buttons as finger got tired, and I just cleared my progress after beating the second stage.
Not a huge deal, but a little inconvenient after spending 10-15 minutes finally getting through the last stage of level 2.
The upgrade system and use of kongpanions is pretty cool, but the game gets a little bland. Maybe change the music, scenery, and obstacles every once in a while. Like, after 100,00 feet, maybe change to a snowy background, or giant angry mushrooms, or something. The basic idea worked better than a lot of launch games due to the amount of control the rocket gives you.
There's a bug or two on this game. I tried shining light on the first eye and it didn't work, so I walked back into the bathroom. When I came back into the eye room, the eye had disappeared and I couldn't do anything. I had to restart and try shining the mirror toward the eye again, and it worked the second time around.
Holy crap. I have been on this site for years, and this is one of the best games I have played on Kongregate. I'm amazed at how complex the game got by the time I got to the end: using a variety of sword skills to knock guys into the air then slam them into the ground, then sending a distant attack behind me while I turn on my invincibility aura to destroy the guys in front of me, then switching to a health aura, all while getting a combo over 500 is extremely satisfying. I was disappointed that Oniko seemed like a fan-service boss, but besides that, the game was amazing. I expected a simply mouse clicking brawler and got something exponentially better.
God, the pattern with three bombing planes and seven cars charging is complete bullcrap. Every time I run into that, I lose over half my team. They either get run over or bombed and die instantly.
This game gets really boring. I get so tired of these waiting games. Just let me play.
Getting the second badge can be a pain. I noticed that the game was only counting furnishings that were completed while the game was open. I would still get my new thing, but it wouldn't get counted towards the badge.
An easy way to get the medium badge is to build ferns. They are cheap, don't take up much room, and there doesn't seem to be a limit to how many you can build. You might expand the size of your shop once or twice to give yourself enough room.
I finished the hard badge so I could adequately describe how bad the game is. Interaction is terrible. You get to close to the end of a platform and you just slide off. You slip across all the platforms and especially on the ice ones, which are completely unnecessary. The rails don't accurately show where moving platforms will go. Some of them go beyond the rails and some stop before the rail ends. Silly things kill you, like touching the side of the screen. Simply put, the game demands precise movements and gives imprecise controls and bad physics.
Just a fair warning, it took me almost seven hours to get the last badge. After a while, the game just starts to feel tedious. It's a fun idea, but could use a little more story and maybe some mini-games here and there to break the monotony.
Terastas, I love the original game too, and I can see some of your disappointment, but the original also had to use the keyboard if you wanted to use bullet time. I played the game a lot and got used to going without bullet time because I liked using just the mouse. I agree that the first one has better music and a more unique feel to it, but this game isn't that bad.
The first Death vs Monstars is one of my favorite flash games. WHile I liked the music of the first one more, this is an excellent game. I love how the mechanics work. The game is hard enough to be fun, but it isn't so tough that it gets irritating. It's not too much of a grind. I think my only complaint was the rage faces. They kind of detract from the game's originality.
The missions seem way too hard. I feel like the missions should be a stepping stone to get more upgrades, but it is often much easier to just get money and pay off the missions instead. The missions are generally not very fun.
The game isn't bad, but I found it a bit annoying. I am always put off by games that use 'u,' 'lol,' or emoticons in dialog. It just seems out of place. The controls are a bit unruly, and I felt like the game was designed to kill me even when it wasn't my fault. I don't think you should make death the punishment when teaching a new mechanic, like the grapple hook. And it was sometimes hard to tell what would instant kill me and what would only cause damage. So, bombs only hurt me, but a spinning hammer is death?
Initially, I gave this game four stars because the writing was so good. But I've had to rate it lower because of the energy limitation. I can only play for about five minutes before my energy runs out. It's impossible to get anywhere in the story when I have to fight more than twenty monsters that cost 25-45 energy to battle. I don't necessarily mind grinding, but let me play the game. :( This game has so much potential....
you honor me. thank you! :)
