The boring, but easy way to get 500+ points in survival: Auto upgrade, move all the squads down into the lower left corner (on top of each other) and move the cursor along the edge, to pick up all the coins.
The first couple of levelswas fun, but it quickly evolved into a tedious grin... and disappointed looks from the bulls, because i couldn't be bothered to make perfect maces :-P
You earn 50 % extra, when killing dinos with the knife. So make sure to use your hands and watch out for bonus money (yellow specks on the minimap), to get the turret even faster in survival mode.
For 3 stars on level 9 (normal as well as hard) start with 5-6 Harvesters, research Storm squids and time your abilities just right - turn the worm to you side with the bomb, lure 2 or 3 of your squids past the wall and take care of the bombers by timing you squid production and using your spit.
After couple of tips, from someone who has spent far to much time playing this :-) 1. It is all about the stats, Clerics and Mages are perfect as frontliners if you equip them for it (Clerics can use magic together with any weapon, Arcane-mages together with bows, one-handed or staves). 2. Retreats regenerate when you move around 3. High Toughness is great on everyone, that extra health can really make a difference 4. Energy is not all that important for Clerics (7 Energy gives 18 mana and 20 gives 28 mana at lvl 1) 5. Salto (with a single point in the doge tree), is a great skill for archers and mages
Great game, would be perfect if there was a more throughout tutorial, with proper explanations of diferent combat options. Others have said that "sails" lower the opponents AP, but i aam not so sure about that. I did some testing against different kind of ships, and in some cases "crew" was more effective in lowering enemy AP.
I thought i was supposed the special weapons like RPG for a special occasion, but then I just win all of the sudden, without even getting to try it out :-(
I'm seeing these comments about the wrench now and I can't believe it's taken this long for me to notice it too. Bluh.
