I'm running out of good things to say, damn it :P Text boxes with 'new item in inventory/new place on map/new clue/etc.' texts too often were placed in front of dialogue though... That's a little design flaw that annoyed me, but really nothing more. Solid entry in the series. Max score at first try, getting better at your puzzles Lu Moja! ;D
Thank you, and congrats! It's true that the "new thingie" message overlays the dialogues, but that's just momentarily and it takes priority in my opinion, so that's why it's how it is. I might thiink of finding another solution, though... like the notifications appearing in the lower end of the screen....
(response to release date) Don't rush it Lu Muja :) I think we all would rather like to wait a bit longer to got best quality game, just... make it happen before upcoming zombie outbreak :P
This deduction system is getting only better. No blind guessing in sight ;) Meanwhile release date of full game is slipping further and further I see...
Thank you, glad you like the new deaduction system! As for the Steam release date... you're right, and I'm sorry. The thing is, I'm just one guy, and it's the first time I go for a project this size. I keep underestimating the time and resources I need to finish such a big project with the quality level I desire. But I'll bring it to conclusion eventually, I promise!
(2/2) In other comments there were some good ideas to improve, and I see you responding to them, so you know what to do. I was just a little dissapointed with secret ending... Maybe adding some bonus levels as a reward, or some 'cheat codes' like in 'i saw her standing there' game. Overall I had fun time and can't wait to see your next games and how you'll bend our minds to solve puzzles :)
PS. lvl 61 was easy, it could be in world 2 :P
PS2. You should check some internet games like Jumphobia and Shift, because I find them a bit similar, maybe find some ideas
Well, here's a bulleted list of my responses:
>I don't think the music is "psychodelic." Like, I've never listened to that stuff, but me & my friend weren't trying to emulate that style.
>I use plain Javascript, no external engines.
>Bonus levels would have been cool, but hey, you gotta finish a game at some point.
>I actually have played both Jumphobia and Shift.
Thanks for all that feedback!
Ok, after I finished a game, a few thoughts. The puzzle are incredible. every once per few levels I was thinking 'ok, now this shit is impossible, this time for sure' And yet every time I managed to figure it out. Although a little hint system would be nice. Learning curve is fine, I enjoyed how you introduce new elements one by one, as we learn to interact with them by playing, not by reading notes. Music is psychodelic, interesting but maybe you should work on it, as I found myself muting it and listening to something else at some point. Graphic style is funny but a bit ugly, I think it screams at me 'hey, that's my first finished unity project!!!' (or whatever engine you use ;) ) (1/2)
I think it was more logical then previous game. I mean, here I had no problem to find out who was the kidnapper, while in the last game it was a blind guess for me. Although I still don't know what is needed to meet Nine Deaths Cat, for once she was in the house of the robber, and once she weren't (I played 2 times because of I didn't talked to the head in my pocket so I had right deduction but bad ending first time ;) ) Can you clarify it?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed this episode! As for your question: during the first cutscene, when you're inside the Commissioner's office, you're asked a question about the Cat and the outcome of the previous episode; if you let her flee to another continent, she won't be in the city and you won't meet her :)
Thank you a lot for your support! I did start a Kickstarter campaign an year ago or so, but at the moment there's no way to contribute but to wait and keep enjoying the episodic games I'm making for free... glad you're having fun! :)
Those games are great. Music, Graphics, Storyline, Dialogues, Characters, Deductions... I'm looking forward for next episodes and for full game, until now 5/5 although I got 26/27 because of didn't realised who's a thief ;)
There is a terrible glitch. After you transfer a tape, then watch both videos, then press play again, you can't leave, can't click anything. Hope it's gona be repaired, I enjoy the game even when I have to start it whole again (damn, wasn't using saves, my fault)
Thank you, and congrats! It's true that the "new thingie" message overlays the dialogues, but that's just momentarily and it takes priority in my opinion, so that's why it's how it is.
