Two more things before I forget. 1. The bonus round does not count towards the bell cooldown. Perhaps you can change it so that it does. 2. If you're looking for additions to the bell feature, you might want to consider a combo feature. Either every time it's rang, or a special draw, or perhaps if it rolls on an extra ball and there are no extra ball cans around. 3. Deriving from the above, there should be some sort of reward if the bell ring chooses a can type that is not around for that particular level. Maybe an extra ball, a combo marker or bonus score.

Developer response from hexafun

1. True that, possibly. 2. Yes, it is planned to add kinda of a perk for balls. Like it would add extra effects, like no gravity, explosion, vanish... something like that. 3. Agreed, it was originally designed for it and should not roll a thing that is not there to make something with. Noted. Thanks

A few more things I wanted to address: 1. Any chance you can increase the maximum amount of balls one can have at any time? I often find myself earing balls while having the maximum. To me, those are just wasted balls that I'll never get to use. 2. The bell still does not reset after level 20. 3. The two round cooldown of the bell starts two rounds after it has chosen which ball to remove. This causes issues if the last ball in a level is knocked down with a ball that just hit the bell. What I would suggest in this situation is to either change the cooldown so that it is two rounds after the time it was been rang, or implement a button that allows one to move to the next level instead of the game moving you automatically. 4. Kongregate comment formating sucks. Just wanted to put that out there.

Developer response from hexafun

1. Possibly no. In fact, it bothers me that you got so far already. 2. Yes, and shouldnt. 3. Yea, I kinda agree to disagree on that mechanism too. I will think on something. 4 Agreed, at least it should be the same as that update news where "*" means "bold", etc.. Thanks

In regards to my previous issues, the second one to be more exact, I'm referring to the extra ball given for finishing the round. Before today's update, one would receive two balls after finishing level 20. As for the new games modes, I'm going to wait until they are fully implemented, except for one minor thing. The Free Play mode should have the option to replay or even select a desired level.

Developer response from hexafun

Cool idea there! :) Yes, that is true. There was two extraballs and it also was showing a message "Round x Level 0". It was wrong. The way it is now is the one that is correct. Thanks!

A few issues I've noticed since 1.26: 1. The bonus level seems to replace and allow other levels to be skipped. For example, if the Bonus level is achieved after finishing level 5, level 6 is skipped and the Bonus level is followed by level 7. 2. There is no extra ball given after finishing a round and the bell does not reset. 3. The website scores do not match the ones on Kongregate. I'm hoping they are all bugs / mistakes and not intended features.

Developer response from hexafun

1. Fixed, 2.There are always a extraball after any level, 3.No, it is intended, no mistake. Thanks

That sounds about right. I would venture a guess that that was your original intention to begin with. However, the normal mode might still suffer from the random elements. I've been playing it over and over and I've noticed that unless I get lucky, some levels become harder. The question is how do you want your game to be. Either skill plus some chance involved, or just skill based? At the end of the day it's your decision and all I'm doing is providing my perspective.

Developer response from hexafun

Sure, thank you.

I see no reason to end the game at level 20 and not allow one to gain a higher score by playing more rounds. Achieving a higher score is what drives me, and hopefully others, to reply the game over and over again. If you want just one round, then that's what the timed mode should be. I would also like to point out that because some levels contain random elements, the normal mode (and most likely the timed mode) will suffer from what I believe to be a huge flaw. Basically if the random elements are allowed to continue, chance / luck will have a huge impact on deciding the score. I would prefer high scores to reflect skill, rather than luck in a game such as this.

Developer response from hexafun

What about this: A Time Attack Mode, with no random elements and to finish at level 20. Highscores here will be *the lowest time to complete*; A Sandbox Mode, which does not have scores but infinite balls left, just for fun; A Classic Mode which is the one originally designed with random elements and no end, aka the mode you been playing. Right?

As far as I'm aware, one has to request the score to be unhidden themselves.

Developer response from hexafun

Is it a problem to have uber highscores on a leaderboard? Should I make it end on level 20?

I'm not sure if you are aware, however there seems to be an issue with the full screen feature. It does not appear to work on a resolution of 1280 x 1024.

Developer response from hexafun

Yes, that is true. That's why I am moving that stuff to a "hud like" mode. Ive done already with best score and balls left. Thanks!

Very nice and quite an interesting little game you have here, Hexafun. It has kept me hooked up on it since the first day I've played, and I have to add that the constant updates are making it even more interesting. My only complaint is that it seems the All Time high scores are a bit out of whack. While my score shows up on the weekly table, it seems to be missing from the All time one, and any new scores I gain, do not show up in the Daily tab. I'm not sure if the issue is on your side, on Kongregate's, but I figured I'd let you know first. Keep up the good work.

Developer response from hexafun

Ah, youre finally here! :D Ive been watching you and YES, highscores was messed in the last update 1.22, but the update I made today have a lot of fixes and a new ranking system, similar to kongregate system. Please note that this ranking system is a different database than the kongregate one, hope you enjoy it even more! :) Thank you very much!

It would be nice if there was some kind of sound played after a perfect tunnel. Going at 160 mph is a bit hard to look at your scores to see if you made a perfect tunnel.

Could anyone answer why my scores have been removed from the high scores list?
