For those who just want the badge:
Once you got the savefile issue fixed, there's a bug that allows you to buy units and keep your money. Simply spend your gold however you want, exit the castle and go to world map. Close the game and come back. Voila, units are still there but gold has been reset to the previous value.
Not in all the characters I get to use to write a comment can I say just how much is wrong with this game, this type of game in general, and Kongregate for hosting and badging yet another pay-to-win, time-wasting, piece-of-sh*t game made by greedy, cash-grabbing, ignorant developers. Shame.
Where do I even start... You know what, at the beginning. Wtf is that startup loadscreen that hogs all my computer memory and often crashes my browser so I have to load all over? Tedious load screens for everything you click. Stamina so even the simplest things will eventually cost money. Refill this for cash, refill that for cash. Buy this, buy that. The tutorial treats me like a child. Free crystals for 50 kreds! I have to actually LOOK for things that concern the game itself rather than anything kreds, gems or cash related. Advertisements, advertisements everywhere. Pay to win garbage in it's purest form.
Well, I was going to write a nice and constructive review for this game, but halfway in I realized that the developers won't care. All they care about is making money. Love the Naruto series, but giving any P2W game badges is horrendous. I can only clear one instance every hour, unless I draw my wallet? Pff. Fine, Kong. Have it your way. I'll take my badge and leave a 1-star rating behind, never to return.
@TruePurple It means said outfit doesn't have a matching component for that category. For example, an X in the hat slot means that outfit has no hat/headpiece that you have to equip to get the set bonus. :)
For easy win: Start with research only, focus on the research speed-skill first. After that, complete all others in whichever order desired, and finish the plant afterwards. Good guns required for... later waves. /nospoilers
A few sloppy things aside, this game is pretty fun. And by sloppy things, i mean the bad English, the buggy controls in bossfights, the easily fixable Bestiary etc
I played this game many years ago, but never got around to finishing the expansion. I think the difficulty scales too fast, and there are not enough weapons. I've been stuck on a 2-4 damage forever. I need items and heals to defeat enemies that are well below my level, and farming gets tedious. Great game, lots of potential, just not properly scaled.
For people struggling to get the hard badge:
Chaining the ghosts when taking them out doubles their points with each one. So while a single pellet is worth 10 points, chaining Inky, Binky, Pinky, and Clyde results in 200+400+800+1600 = a whopping 3000 points. My best guess is that there's somewhere between 100 and 250 pellets in a level, making a quadrakill on the ghosts worth an entire level worth of points.
Protip: Find a powerup, and stay in the general area of the thing. Try baiting as many of the ghosts as you can (If they see you, they will follow you) and lead them to the powerup. Pick it up, turn around, and collect your free 3000 points.
A rating of 3.5 and rising? Really Kongregate? We understand you have to make money, but... really? There are no words to describe how sad this thing is. I'm not even calling this a game. It basically 'Well, you're level one, you can do almost nothing, you can buy nothing, you are severely underpowered and the only way to slightly compensate would be to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars. The interface is chaotic, there is no music, it's plain boring and I'm seriously going to think about never logging in on the site again.
