Linear progression. Time limit. Combat is bulky and slow. Music doesn't fit the game. Would give better rating if there was no limit to "weeks" played, and if levels could be replayed. Also, give an option to skip combat animations (and maybe boost the hit rate a bit, 50% miss is also annoying).
Oh. Another spoonfed tutorial with a storyline of energy-based linear progression providing diminishing returns resulting out of a convoluted pay-to-win character profile enhancement scheme? I'll pass. Good luck to you, though. I hope it works as good as the other 50 million games like this one.
It is very, very dissatisfying that the game forces you to choose Brom as your 3rd companion. I had the game figured out by level 2, was looking forward to choosing my next companion. I knew by level 2 that I did not want Brom. I didn't want anything close to Brom. But.. there it was. Must choose Brom. Then, after being forced to choose Brom, I see that Brom looks stupid AF
I am so tired of over-size gorilla-shaped warrior types in games. Disproportionate male upper-body sucked when it was a new idea, and it still sucks now. Like it seriously degrades this game so much.
Then, there is a bunch of crap quests to waste resources on Brom? Gee, it just gets better... /meh.
Would rate 5 stars if not for force-fed tutorial waste of resources on Brom crap.
Fun game. I like having the diverse character class selections, and unlocking more through gameplay. I would give this 5 stars if the movement was analog, rather than slowly accelerating. It makes micro-adjustments a bit of a PITA, particularly during combat when the enemy is standing on your head, or when trying to make a precision jump. Combat itself is cool, with a variety of different attack styles, and different ways to apply them. Sorta like a classic adventure puzzle game.
The game displays a certain hit %, but in play, the observed rate is closer to half of that rate. E.g. if it says 90% hit, it will only hit 45% of the time, if it says 70%, it will only hit 35%. Add the game is constant lag, and my entertainment equated to frustration. If not for BoD, don't bother with this one.
Can't play on Chrome, requires Unity to run, and the game is spastic once you finally get it going. Requires fast-twitch reaction, using fear of failure as a motivating factor, rather than positive incentives. Quickly becomes frustrating, trapping a player's mind in an aggressive state. Not a healthy game. Not a fun game. This is a half-developed piece of 1-star game.
Enemies have too many HP, have to kite everything from level 1, get hit once by anything other than the scorpion or basic zombie, and you die. Bats? Viking zombie things? Everything? Hits you once, you die. You get spammed with monsters so that you cannot even work on the door. Just run back and forth hundreds of times, jumping over enemies repeatedly (again, don't let them hit you, or you die instantly), waiting for your ultimate ability to charge fully.
Frigging stupid and tedious. You'll be bored of this game before you can even buy a single upgrade.
Only get credit for 1st time mission complete? Lame. Difficulty scales badly with upgrades, because the upgrades are not empowering. Game would have been better if you just farm either duel or multiplayer map with a player-defined difficulty scale. Instead, this game just sucks.
crashes and freezes without fail in chrome, barely works in firefox. It's like trying to watch ice melt when I move the mouse. Then add that the nonsense. How did this garbage ever become BotD? This game needs to go back to development, or in the trash if it remains as-is.
Too much gear with limited duration, card management is a pain. All in all, this game is just becoming too much of a mess, and requires too much resource management to be fun anymore. I don't even quest, I just log in for daily rewards, and to restart the seaport (afk rewards system). So, really what's the point? Down-ranked to 3 stars because it was fun, but now it seems I only get items that expire after a few days, and if not that, i get crap to make things that expire after a few days. /fin
Every time I get money saved, the retarded mandatory tutorial forces me to spend it on some crap.
AND there is an energy limit with a slow-asset recharge rate? So I can't even continue gaming when I want to. THIS ENTIRE GAME IS FORCE-FED! Argh.
Don't waste your time.
Forced tutorials = Lame. Need option to skip. P2W: to buy anything better than lowest quality stuff requires premium cash. AND THERE ARE TWO TIERS OF PREMIUM! What_the_heck? Really, who makes a median tier for premium, like anyone is going to buy that with the knowledge that they will have to buy the top tier eventually.. Stupid. The graphics are childish. This is a game that I might spend $5 to buy FULL access to all heroes and gear for. Unfortunately, it costs $5 just to buy ONE SINGLE EPIC HERO (You will need 6, and probably you won't get the right "balance" without buying more than 6). Anyway, I am going to grind at this F2P for a while, and see how much it really sucks. BBL with update!
Lame PvP system should be dissociated from achievements. Matchmaking is about as accurate as an epileptic stuck in a coat closet with a strobe light while trying to thread a needle. The curios are a bit retarded too. While original? I guess? The curios just don't seem that cool, kinda like they took the ideas that never made the cut as bad guys in the original scooby-doo cartoon or something. xD Still.. I'm going to play for a few more levels because clicking passes time.
