A fun bullet-hell game that runs full speed on the computer I got in 2004? Rock.

Atropos is a great boss name.

I love watching Questy blithely charge through the dungeon once you have the right solution. He just does what comes naturally and it all works out for the best!

I bought my first Kreds for this game after years of playing for free. More than worth it! And I don't even like most tower defense games. Also, the sheep battle is awesome. The best method I found requires a barbarian with 9 rage and an ice mage with 9 chill to debuff the sheep for a while; then for damage, ideally use maxed dragons with zero points in fire breath and archers with a lot of points in rapid shot and critical. There's some leeway; any archers will help and knights or level 2 dragons are decent as well. One healer with 9 inspire (respec at level 20) is helpful. Don't forget casting Frenzy, but the sheep is immune to freeze, pushback, and nom. I won at level 23 with suboptimal archers and dragons and ~150 sheep remaining.

How to win on harder difficulties: Get a hospital ASAP. If you don't start near one, get a new map. Try to build mostly in one direction so that you'll hit the map edge after a while. After reclaiming your first several squares, start scavenging cleared squares for scraps until they're empty; you'll score lots of equipment and happiness, prevent zombies from moving back in, and it's twice as good for food as dedicating a farmer. If you clear a building with two squares bordering you, you can repeatedly reclaim for a few days and then cancel, keeping the squares clean and reducing your border threat level.

Man, the game is not horrible but it's really, really repetitive. Most of the skills and enemies are completely interchangeable. I don't see why people like it so much.

Great game! At first it looked like just another virus game clone, but the unusual colonization and battle mechanics make a big difference. The later levels are extremely challenging but not frustrating; there's a tough balance between massing your fleet to destroy the enemy and spreading out to new planets. The controls are intuitive and the artwork is gorgeous. Well done!

1) Use auto-fire or hold the mouse button for your main weapon. I suggest the X key for your secondary, rather than double-clicking. 2) Matt is generally the best character, mostly because his secondary attack is very strong, hits lots of enemies at once, extends out to the sides significantly, and uses so little energy that you can throw it 2-3 times each wave. Anna is also excellent: her secondary weapon is a spread attack that you can pretty much just turn on and forget about so that you can focus on dodging. And her bomb lasts long enough to let you avoid nearly an entire phase of a boss. No-legs and Natz have crap secondaries, and Lance is just middling.

Getting the firefly in runner bonus level 3 (Chasms) is frickin' amazing, a perfect combination of thought and timing. There are only three jumps, but even though you can see the whole layout, each jump is not quite intuitive at first; it took me many tries to understand and execute them just right, but the level is so short that it never felt frustrating. Thanks for this terrific level in an awesome game.
Great little game! The controls would be better if holding down spacebar didn't cause repeated jumps, though; it makes doing long jump unnecessarily risky and fiddly.

What? Bombs don't blow up other bombs next to them? This violates the most basic laws of bomb physics!

Wow, this game is actually fun! Don't press "Restart", though.

On my third play, hit two pink launchers early on and ended up with 6.5K day 1, and an easy Mars trip on day 2 (full radar, level 2 fuel sucker, lots of fuel and boosters was more than enough).

I had to quit for a month after getting stuck on level 58. Then I came back and finished it within 20 minutes (laser, lightning, energy homers). I think I needed to get out of offense mode or something...

This is really awesome! Very challenging, but fair. You definitely have to forget most of your Tetris skills to succeed. The key is to avoid vertical seams that effectively split your tower in two. Lay pieces horizontally whenever you can, and resist the urge to stack oranges, reds, or greens. For the hard badge, if you have a solid tower of height 400 or so, you can probably do a thin vertical tower the rest of the way if you lay it down quickly.

If you're running into an invisible circle in level 3 / c, turn your screen brightness up.
