In reference to my comment on March 29, 2020:
Well, that aged like milk. Turns out that I am indeed female, and just had very deep-seated gender repression. Oops.
Assuming that men can be angels, that would make Dregg the Angel of Life, Ada the Angel of Ambition, and Amber the Angel of (I forget what she was the angel of). Who's the fourth angel?
An amazing game, but I'm not too much a fan of the timeline where you betray your clan. The one where you take over as chief is ambiguous enough, the betrayal ending is just flat-out painful. It might not be so bad if you didn't become an absolute jerk in the process. It pained me to see the character turn from a mostly nice character to a pure sadist. The other two endings were very nice, too, but I think I slightly prefer the coalition outcome. So, with that, my rankings for the endings are:
1. Coalition (score: 10) - just about a perfect outcome
2. Heroic (score: 9) - overall positive outcome, but the love story is slightly melancholy
3. Ambiguity (score: 3) - eh, this is a rather sad ending
4. Betrayal (score: -1) - yes, that's negative. You made me feel terrible for making the main character a jerk. I almost didn't finish this because he behaved so terribly.
All in all, another game well made.
Hey, I can totally see your point. I've been told many times that my stories are all full of "good" characters and there's little antagonism, so I made this one where you can also become sort of evil. Some people like playing a sadist character who kills anyone for personal gain. At least it invokes more emotional response this way - you can appreciate the 2 happier endings more when you see the alternatives and experience how sad or "evil" it can get with different choices made.
