Cute little program for making nice shapes. It's amazing for what it is! ... Making a version where you see a shape and have to figure out the numbers would be godmode.
This game is not challenging. It's just tedious. It only takes 1 or 2 tries to figure out how the level is to be beaten, but if you can't draw your arcs steep enough, you have to restart.
Terrific game! But I had to stop at chapter 4 because my computer is 15 years old and the swamp lags so much that I can't get the proper timing for a smoke ring.
I found some bugs in the squirrel area: If you are on the far left screen and click the right arrow quickly (or vice versa), you can go out of bounds and you have to restart the chapter. If you click on the tree just after Reemus catches the squirrel, a message pops up, but you can't click it away, and the UI is gone, so you can't change screens, switch characters, or even restart the chapter!
I have several suggestions for improving the instructions:
1) Put the "NEXT" button on the right and the "PREV" button on the left.
2) Sometimes I have to click "NEXT" several times to get to the next page. Maybe it's a timing issue?
3) On the second page it says "2. You can only use each number" ... I think you mean "...each number once per row or column."
4) On the fourth page, the instructions overlap with the buttons.
5) On the second page from the end, fix the spelling of "nubers"
I think if you fix up the game and make the UI more interesting, Kakuro could become popular on Kongregate!
It's not in the instructions, but you can type multiple numbers into a single box to "pencil in" possible answers. Type a number again to erase it from the box.
I would like to see a way to turn off the "possible inputs" display at the bottom. In the meantime, I have to zoom in on my browser and scroll to the top of the page to avoid looking at it.
I know my computer is really bad, but how does a game like this run so slowly compared to other Flash games? It looks fun, but I've lost patience with how laggy it is.
For those of you wondering when the game get's challenging, it's sometime after the 100,000-point mark. I just got the badge after beating level 8, where it takes 2 seconds to kill a wave of ships with homing missiles and 5 seconds for the next wave to spawn.
Do you though? Do you REALLY?
