I love how I can't even get past the menu. Regardless of which slot I choose, I just hear the game registering the click sound and that's that. Nothing happens. If it's of any help, I'm using Firefox Developer Edition v. 65
Kept the game running in the background. Flash crashed. Reloaded game, 'The Director' achievement is now missing even though I have unlocked all countries. How do I make the game realize that I've got it? :/
Some of the images / animations were really impressive, others not so much. Difficulty level was all over the place. Some levels were really easy and others were incredibly hard (at least, in my opinion), but in no progressive order.
It's cool how you incorporated the number of differences remaining along with the image, but sometimes even that was hard to spot - or maybe it's just me.
As others have mentioned, the bug is also reproducible when pressing hint in that psychadelic level with the waving hands. If the last remaining difference is a black mark near the door frame, and you press for Hint, it will flash momentarily but the game fails to progress.
I have to agree with some of the comments, that a form of tutorial would have been nice. I spent the first few levels wondering about the different aspects of the game, and I eventually returned the menu to try to find out the tutorial. 15 levels in I can't guarantee I know the whole difference between the types of pulsars / embryos except that some are more regenerative than others (so it seems) and that cutting a tentacle would give it's energy to the connected ends - which makes sense when you think about it lol. Interesting concept though and a nice twist on the original 'spread as fast as you can race'.
Not sure if someone else already said this, or if it's just me. But I'm having a problem with Java. I'm running a x64-bit Windows 7 PC, and using Chrome (native Java if I remember correctly?). I also tried launching it in Internet Explorer (using JRE 7) but it doesn't load there (no problem).
Anyway, the error I'm experiencing in Chrome is a Java-related error throwing a ClassNotFoundException for the following: com.threerings.getdown.launcher.GetDownApplet
Overpowered doesn't begin to express how my character was at the end of the game loool.
It was an OK game I guess :) Following certain comments I maxxed Reaction time and Speed but at the Premier I was failing miserably - Then I realized that my Health was at 0% - Got it back into the 90s and *miracle* I was finishing the race before the others even started - It was funny to see the character jump from obstacle to obstacle without even hitting the ground xD
As a little advice:
-> Speed should be reduced to a ratio of: 0.5 : 1 (reduced by half)
-> Stamina should be increased to a ratio of 1.5 - 2 : 1 (increased by half / twice)
That should keep the levels with about the same experience gained.
It's quite a good game... The various levels and (not instructional) creativity make the game quite cool, together with the penguins and stuff... But what about lvl 25 eh? I must comment - like most other people that 99 hits are far too much and with such a slow ball... It is quite agonizing... Furthermore, the whole ping-pong thing was being a bit repetitive. But, otherwise, it's fine...
Guess what! I'm commenting again :) I have had no problems collecting the badges, and note that I have not encountered any bugs in Hard mode, however there quite some in easy mode... Hint: Try Hard mode - You get done much faster ;)
Haha! It's a somewhat funny game... Not sure what to comment about My Dying Bride being on this game - since they're my favorite artist - but I don't quite like that song - so anyway... Cheers!
One more comment (and hopefully the last). I have quite enjoyed the game, but its various bugs made me rate it at 2... Furthermore, I wanted to comment about how the game decides whose letter has been pressed when more than one ninja requires the same letter.... This appears to be quite random. Furthermore, the Survival mode seems to be only possible through hard mode, and it takes quite a long way - It's not difficult only too tedious since it takes long... And I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes its troubling to focus over moving text, maybe it needs to move slower than the ninjas or something, but a lot of text leads to a lot of eye strain (on my part)...
I just wanted to comment a bit more... The colour scheme is fine - I quite liked it, and the overall graphics of the game. As well as the new ninjas being added on new levels - that keeps the game from getting too boring... But thus, a few more negative comments, I wonder if there is a counter of remaining ninjas, because I can't seem to find it, and dying from a boss would mean having to replay the whole level, which isn't quite right...
Good concept and interpretation... However! It's got various bugs, such as ninjas that dont' die (even when the word is typed), or getting a Game Over after killing a boss. And what about the combo counter? Why does it reset to 1 occasionally without mistyping any letters? Weird... Could have been much better without those bugs...
