Like many puzzle games, if I can't figure out a puzzle, I wish I could move on and come back later for it. I'm looking at you 13, where the buttons do nothing.
The animation is quite impressive and expressive. The way Birb dances, and the way so many things react to being pushed and walked past. The musical challenges feel like they are part of a different game.
While it is not require to listen to any audio to solve the puzzle, the sound effects of the new mechanics and the background music both add tremendously.
I got to what I assume is the final boss with a level 4 crew. I now have a level 7 crew, and a pile of cash with nothing to spend it on, and still can't beat it. That purple shot is just too powerful.
I like the variety of powerups with their differing firing arcs and status effect. I feel the short range weapons may be powerful, but lack too much in utility perhaps because I prefer to keep my distance. I would pick up the shot gun if it also shot enemy shots, or pick up the flamer if it could destroy mines.
I got hit by the same clothespin twice. The first time, it knocked me off the clothesline, and the second time I was on the ledge next to the dog. I was unable to move.I can crouch and mew, but cannot move left, right, or jump. It's a glitch in a demo, and I'll be restarting now. I so look forward to the full game.
I wish your ship would fire constantly, and then use the mouse button for the blast wave. Alternatively, swap space-upgrade with e-blast as the timing of the blast wave is far more critical than buying upgrades.
The 2nd body lacks a central cannon, and no combination of other options or weapons can make it legal, as it seems impossible to remove the default central cannon weapon.
3 stars on missions up to the first boss, which is a complete overrun. Maybe if the game ran at half speed, I might be able to micromanage my troops, or try to pay attention to what troops the enemy is using. Having to wait to confirm the my troops actually moved is very annoying.
I feel the game should assume you are holding down the space bar, and that pressing the space bar does what releasing it would normally do: fire the the charge or temporarily stop the rapid fire.
I wish the power-ups moved slower so I could actually choose between them, as opposed to madly dashing for the closer one. Also, once a power-up type is maxed, new occurrences of it should be replaced with, or picking it up should show a replacement of, something else, like shields or points. Otherwise, always glad to see a new shmup.
Thanks! Clothespins problem fixed (you can get multiple hits Mileo wont freeze anymore ;))
