Have played through a given level 20+ times now because I don't like progressing without that second star. This is really frustrating me because the numbers required to get that second star are freakishly high and not at all dependent on what you do as a player.
It is a cute game, but the scaling once you reach the map levels completely falls off. Mining becomes useless. Any building but Hotel loses its value. Block had stopped being relevant a loooong time ago. All the game comes down to at that point is farming the map levels for your new weapons and then beating the world map. Rinse and repeat.
I don't get the complaints about cash being limited. I ended the game with 126k that I had no clue what to do with. Grenades are your friend (they come back after every mission)
The Badge screen is bugged. Having completed every mission shooting every ship getting every start there are still about 30ish stars it says I do not have. Why is this game so much absurdly easier than its predecessors? They were almost impossible to complete without some good luck or clever strategy.... This game is beatable with homing rockets and leaving your ship unmoving in the center of the screen.
Overall I liked the game but the challenge jump of levels 19 and 21 is tremendously more difficult than anything else including the last level. Endless resets and praying for favorable bounces just isn't terribly fun.
The problem isn't challenge... This game doesn't feel challenging it feels plodding. Precise control isn't rewarded nearly as much as continually relaunching until you get the right set of RNG.
Once you figure out that terraforming is the only spell you need to win the game it gets rather easy. granted Water Storm made it much easier every level gets beat by building to highest level and spamming waterstorm at the enemies who at most can survive 3 casts.
Game is very easy on time stop levels. Can rapid click away all the blobs that are not a timestop color until you are about to die then hit timestop and clear most of the screen. Frequently awarded victory before timestop finishes.
