I could have just gotten the BOTD, but my interest was piqued. The mechanics of the game are limiting - many times I wanted better options. However, I think the dev did a pretty good job given the task (5/5). There is a universal truth about good and evil that simply is - nobody gets to define it, not even God - or he could not be called good. God does know and adhere to what is good. That statement cannot be proven - only accepted by faith (i.e. trust in God). Either there is a God who never lies and cares enough to let us know the truth, or we have to try to figure it out ourselves. The claim of the Bible over other texts is that God proved its validity through supernatural acts. The only way to reject the Bible is to claim that the miracles documented are false. Men will do this - not because of proof - but because of the desire to not be accountable to God.
The most irritating thing about this game is the fact that it takes so much guessing to find where the developer thought there were problems. Since the developer is human - he is vain and fallible. I'll comment more once I've finished the game - if I do. Anyway, it's ironic that at the moment I am actually writing a book on Good and Evil - and this game just "happened" to be the BOTD.
I am extremely impressed with the cross-dimensional powers of these geese. Two air vehicles that are far enough apart to miss each other will still both hit the geese. Also, I don't understand why geese will join a flock for protection - they are obviously safer by themselves.
One last warning - it appears that goose feathers, normally dangerous to aircraft, can jam your computer as well...
So, on level 16, whether I duplicate a tab or make another window, the only thing I manage to achieve is to disconnect from Kongregate chat and see a nice picture of a switch on the new window. Yes, the big switch lights up and moves, but my first window doesn't change at all.
so, when I found out that gold ore, emerald and ruby make coaxial cable, I decided to look around for some of those cables myself - I wonder how much gold, emerald and ruby I can get out of one...
Ah, beautiful! Three orc trolls huddled together, so I poison the center one. The one on the right reacts by grabbing an exploding barrel and slamming it onto his head, blasting all 3 to the ground. Then, they get up and start whaling on each other. I especially love the laugh sound effect when a troll gets poisoned.
I agree with Moonfrost - let us sell material. Or, alternatively, make some sort of building upgrade that converts material to a money-maker (such as a bank, a trading post, a crafting shop, etc.) Even so, it is a fun game.
So, I agree that from a philosophical point of view, this game might be interesting. It doesn't need flashy graphics - in fact, the abstractness fits. However, the controls are touchy, the story flow is flimsy and most of the "puzzles" are guesswork.
Grinding = performing the same task over and over so you can get good enough to do the same thing a little better. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. A bit more story would be good. Selling items would definitely be a plus. Some fun, but too repetitive.
The controls are really bad - the left/right moves seem to store up, so you have to play just sort of tapping them, and even then, if it stores extra, it will go crazy. I've seen this in other games and the only way to stop it is to tap in the same direction it is already moving, pretty much guaranteeing a loss. And, by the way, to shadoww, I'm playing on a regular desktop, and the keys still stick. A game like this shouldn't have a badge, period.
It has been a long, hard time. I don't know how many new games I started. Finally got the impossible badge. The last survivor was raiding a deserted cafe in Paris when he succumbed to heart failure while swigging free champagne. Note that according to Airgorilla.com, there are 30 airports in Madagascar, all built after this game was released. The fools are no longer immune, ha, ha!
Beautiful graphics, but the game mechanics haven't been thought out well. I build up an army, and now I'm higher level than anybody around me, except those with bigger armies. The only way I can attack somebody higher level and win is if they weaken themselves by attacking and losing troops.
