The game is VERY creative, I will give you that. It was very nice that you incorporated multiple types of defense like game play into one fantastically entertaining game. That being said, it was HORRIBLY easy, and I didn't see much difference from level to level, in respect to each of the different game play columns.
The only thing I can find wrong with this game is that the numbers for +/- damage/healing are SO small. Usually after I click on the enemy, my mouse cursor actually blocks the numbers. Other than that, this is an incredible game. A true sequel to the first, and it delivers in a way that's both true to the first one and original on it's own.
Gosh, I love this game. I've actually spent money on it which is rare for me. It's a good spin on the normal Wait-To-Play games. That being said, these stamina, energy, and now EXPERIENCE glitches are putting me really close to just not coming back the next day.
This game and I have a love/hate relationship. I hate feeling like I know what I'm doing and the game loves proving me wrong. It frustrates me in the same way the Metroid games did; Every once in a while you have to lean back from the screen and mutter, "Where the f**k haven't I gone?". Excellent game though. Most creative thing I've seen in quite a while.
I've been following your games with a very dear love-hate relationship, Nerdook, and I gotta say, this one's definitely going in the hate column. Sadly, it's for one reason alone. THE DRONES! I'm not sure how many others have figured this out, but if you just spam nothing but drones, you can eventually just walk away from your computer and await your 3-star completion. Simply, they are way too over-powered. Not only do they deal damage, but they have aggro too? And they give you money when they die?! Entirely too much for something so easily produced. Once you have the full upgrades for the drones, and you're getting double the money from their deaths, forget about it. You can fill the screen in minutes. The sad thing is, it only takes about 8-10 upgraded drones to beat the level. 2/5. Good concept, needs tweaks.
Like most other people said, one of the very few problems I can find with this game is the upgrade system, or lack thereof. You can upgrade, yes. How ever, the reset after you die makes this game nearly impossible unless you choose VERY carefully. Unfortunately, this is a major flaw. Other than that, excellent game. I'll be spending the next hour or two trying to figure out a build to eventually beat it...
The ONLY thing that bothers me about the game is that I can't seem to figure out how the notes register with the music, if they do at all. Obviously, the rails on the side go with the bass from time to time, but I don't see a pattern from the notes that appear in the center to the beat or fluctuations from the songs (Uploaded ones, anyways). Other than me being OCD, this is a pretty great game. You took an idea and branched off in an incredible way and really grab user attention with the easy upload system. :D
The note generation is based on dynamics and frequencies, as opposed to bpm as some people are assuming. You will notice the interaction better with a song that has a lot of dynamics (quiet parts, loud parts, little breaks, etc.) Try the built-in Aerodrone song or the Supernova one I linked to in the description.
It's ironic, in a way. There's an achievement for haggling and such, yet you can't even really do it without Edgebee trying to haggle with you about tokens. The only thing that really bothers me about the tokens is that you need them if you want to play more than 7 in game days AND if you want to be able to make special items. One or the other would be completely fine in my book. But both? Really? 1/5, just for the over-abundance of token abuse.
Every once in a while luck does have a major influence on this game, as far as where the spike plats are placed. Aside from that though, I just can't seem to stop playing.
Just a few issues. There is the disappearing key problem with the save. Also, getting stuck in an above platform when I'm trying to jump over a single missing block is pretty annoying. And this isn't a design flaw, but redoing the quests for the badge SUCKS. Other than that, awesome game.
The only thing that I really did not care for was having to walk all the way back to an NPC if/when I got the quest items for them. Other than that, I love it.
To be completely honest, I wasn't wowed by this game. It was actually sort of boring. It was very creative, the graphics were well drawn, but when it comes down to it, there isn't a lot of difference between the first and fifth level. The tactic was just so repetitive. SSSSSSSS, W, Run right, repeat. One thing I did love about it was that you had not only different weapons, but some weapons with certain skills on um. Again, it was a great concept, just got very boring very fast. Maybe a level/skill system?
In the options screen, you can turn on floating numbers for healing/damage if you prefer.
