Barbarian tank, ranger stun, conjuror buff/support, and a cleric healer is working out dandy for me. Just got Super Spelunking. The traditional warrior kept getting clobbered before level 5 or so.
I kept wanting the main character to tell me a story... Why tangerines? Why so many? Why does he hate them? Did they kill his puppy? Why are they so big? Why is he in a featureless gray room? There was potential for some story telling here - something goofy, outrageous and funny. But nope. Just random one-liners, it seems. If there'd been a reason to keep playing - to get answers to these questions - I just might've played longer.
Bug: If Zina attacks with Eye of the Tiger and another person attacks with an equal speed attack and kills Zina with it, then Eye of the Tiger doesn't take effect - even though it should.
Wow. Addictive, fun game. I love the barebones, mind-reading-based strategy - it really makes you wonder if the enemy will flee or stay for one last attack. Maybe it's because I've been on Kong long enough to collect twenty-something cards, but I don't feel any need for a trade system or marketplace or shop. And finally, Anex is my favorite female character for the simple reason that she's the only one without (visibly?) huge cleavage -_-. C'mon, people, do all video game gals have to have huge breasts?
This game only makes me yearn for the games it copies. Raiden, 1942, 19XX, and company. And then, when you do copy an older game's formula, please, for the love of God fix what they did wrong. Dropping power-ups after a boss fight? Not fun. Different colored weapon powerups not stacking? More not fun. Huge HP bars instead of responsive controls? Yeah. Oh, and google Earth screencaps do not make a good background.
2/5
Severely lacks amazing. But maybe it is uhmazing. I'd've liked some originality or complexity - and I just cheated through each level with right click, in the hopes that it'd get better later.
Urg. Great concept, but I can't play it. The stupid ship's hit-radius is like 35+ pixels beyond the ship - and yes, I loaded up a nice, pretty default ship to make sure it wasn't my fault. 3/5
3/5...
Game concept good.
It was a bit...short.
Oh, and trying to be Portal and failing? That fails. Hence the 3 instead of the 4 the mechanics deserve.
