You can play the game 'legit' until you get to the last arena boss & hakkar...then you either waste 10 years of your life leveling to use the items you get, or just do either the poly/pyro or ice/magic dust cheese combos. Also, dynamite opens up the chest in the cave, and the cage with the troll.
To all you guys STILL having trouble with the close combat bug, either AVOID IT, or make certain that the person in CC kills his opponent. If the opponent dies by some other means, be it an explosion, bullet, or even a change of tactics clearing then you get the frozen guy who won't move. Then you gotta blow them up w/a mine or something if you wanted them gone.
I've been getting the bunker jumping as well after a long time of not having to worry about it. Unfortunately it is NOT just graphical, the stats move with it. It's crap luck, but then again it's M&B2
You are typically safe from Arty strikes and Airplanes if you have less than 6 men on the field. Anyone under a camnet doesn't count towards that number, so they allow you to field more men w/out the risk of bombs, etc. But the nets get destroyed easily, and if you don't put it back up ASAP you'll be in a world of hurt b/c suddenly you have 10+ guys exposed on the field.
To answer the questions: Wire does hurt and slow anyone who crosses them SOMETIMES. Grenades cannot be thrown out of bunkers. Mortars need LOS to shoot, so if you block them w/walls they are useless.
even when the xp meter does get 'stuck' when it finally does calculate correctly you'll see a huge jump in your xp bar. So patience...not like you'll play less than a billion games anyways.
Since no bonus score is based on time, even if you go back to stage 1 later to try and get more points, you'll just have to sit there w/5 cannons blazing for an hour before your kill score > than your old score. Booooooring.
Ender, I think that when you first check out a board some of the special rounds are highlighted and some are not right? Only the highlighted ones are going to be your x3+ boards. That's why some endurance rounds are 3x and some aren't.
Score board says 269 waves, but it was actually 362, all those 'detailed orders' knock it down 15 waves per crate. Last 60+ waves was my solo radio man calling arty it was great!
got my best of 140+ waves...yay. game was out to get me from the start though, 3 mortars and a tank at wave 37, a sniper blitz, waffen ss blitz, arty blitz, the wave 100 nonsense...
Thank god for a 96 rifle skill MG!
