It's a pity about the lag and other bugs with this one. The game itself is mostly fine, though, apart from the slightly unwieldy inventory (however, I commend the developer for adding buttons to go straight to the page you want). Hopefully the next game in the series fixes the bugs.
Two and a half hours into the game and I've made it up to fire slimes... this is going to take a while. Oh, also, thank you, funnaut, for making the map interface transparent; makes navigation much easier.
According to the dev website, their online games work best in Google Chrome. I haven't tested it, but if the game isn't working, it may be your browser.
Uh... is the game broken? I'm clicking all over the screen, but the symbols are just shifting around and nothing is happening? Is this some community practical joke?
Okay, just finished the first Glean about five minutes ago; if you haven't played that, go do so. I'm going to wait a bit before I play this next one, though; I'm a bit fatigued from the first...
Surprisingly engaging. I think adding in the story to the admittedly simple gameplay was what did it for me. At first I wasn't all that engaged in the story, but at the point where the gameplay got repetitive, the story got interesting. I really wanted to find out what was at the end... and now that I did, I feel a little hollow. That's not bad... just unexpected. Well done.
This is rather like a bullet hell shooter in that it looks really pretty but it will beat you senseless when you actually try to play it. This is also not like a bullet hell shooter because doesn't actually look that hard at first...
Short but to the point. I liked it alot. The only improvement I'd suggest might be a colourblind mode, maybe with little letters inside the shapes rather than colours. Regardless, this game gets two thumbs up from me... I'd give it more, but the human body is rather limited in that regard.
Note: Backup your saves. Always. I was at level 16 and removed my cookies, thinking that this didn't include my game files saved on the computer... stupid me, that's what a cookie IS. Anyways, check out the Backup Saves? forum discussion to learn how to protect your game.
A Help List in Four Parts (due to Kong's character limit):
It seems like a number of people are having difficulty understanding some of the gameplay elements (which is understandable as the game really doesn't explain them... at all). Here are a few things I've noticed while playing that hopefully should help anyone trying to play this thing (and no, I'm not spoiling any boss fights):
+When you die, as far as I know, you lose nothing, you get full health back, and your enemy's total hitpoints drop by ten or twenty points. And yes, this was not exactly a good idea on rapaxus's part as it is rather exploitable, but presumably the developer added in a cap for the dropping hitpoints.
About the 'swastika-shaped rugs'... the swastika you may be thinking of (the Nazi version) is actually rotated about 45 degrees. This swastika appears to be a much older symbol for peace, which is still used in parts of Asia today (thank you, Wikipedia)... though considering the location (and assuming the developers are from a Western country), it's probably telling us something about the dungeon enemies. So, yes, in this game, demon cultists apparently equal Nazis.
