Leech upgrade helps alot. I got it on 3 units and big recovery helps to compensate damage taken. Favors shotgun.

How to kill a void eater? Stick somewhat close to it, wait until it starts to charge it's lazor, then splat it. Watch out for the "killzone". How to kill a gray? Slash it when it shoots it's lance. Takes 3 slashes to splat (1 with razor glaive). Only vulnerable when shooting it's lance.
