@Raavi: You have to be f***ing kidding. I can consistently win 60% of the time with a little basic strategy. The variance is high by necessity, considering all the high-score free-roll combinations, but if you know anything about basic statistics, you'll understand that the random game will have some outlier situations.
I've scored 8000 in one turn and overtaken a lead for the win before, too. Small probability <> not possible.
Guys, chill. You can consistently beat the computer if you make the right moves. Not to mention, roll six dice yourself sometime and see how many of these combinations show up consistently -- most of the time you'll only end up with a couple ones and fives.
Draco: You've got to think of this game like something like poker or blackjack. The outcome of any one game can be heavily influenced by luck, but in the long run if you're playing a sound strategy you WILL win more than you lose.
FFS guys. Rule number one of gambling (which this essentially is) -- the long run is longer than you think. If you're playing the game well, you will win more games in the long run, and often win consistently (though certainly not 100% -- the luck factor is pretty high). It is WELL within the realm of possibility that the computer goes on a tear, particularly with the "free reroll" rule. steve, how many games did you play? Sample size, people.
ozworth: So you're saying that someone creating a faithful computer adaptation of a classic dice game is a BAD thing? That'd be like complaining about computer versions of backgammon, chess, hell even poker. I'm not sure I get what upsets you.
