Yeah, I like the updates :) I got a really good score too, except kongregate only wants to keep my bad one haha.
Adding a star to your rating, good work.
You're on the right track, except there are a few things you should take care of:
-The shop is a bit unbalanced with some of the powerups
-Animation is choppy and aliens always come from the same spots, try making it random and going for smoother animations
-Level variety, but not enemy or weapon variety. Try adding some more enemies, perhaps ones who are stronger, faster, etc to make things a bit more interesting. Special weapons or other powerups would also be a plus.
Cheers,
Vade
All in all it's just a glitchy asteroids clone with good graphics and aliens.
Also, wave 9 refused to spawn. Either the same is horridly short or this is a massive bug that should be fixed. Either way 2/5
Simple but addicting. The only complaint I have is that right arrow is boost. It can be tough coordinating two hands when you want to stop boost to dodge a wall. It would be nice if shift or something also could be used for boost, then you could control the entire came with one hand.
How did you make the levels? Did you do one large scrolling movieclip, multiple movieclips spawning after the previous one ends or just a simple animation with a _root scroll? Just curious, working on something similar and cant quit get the scrolling right.
Rating went from 4/5 for a fun TD game to a 1/5 because showdowns are simply impossible to win. Why put something like that into a game? A boss maybe, but the showdown is simply impossible. My towers were able to defeat enemies right as tthey came onto the screen, yet I wasn't able to kill a single showdown enemy and there are tons of them at once. 1/5
I expected better from NinjaKiwi, but the fact that they would just remake the over-done bejeweled style game with balloons is stupid. You can do a lot better than rip off other games, stop riding on the success of bloons and make something original again.
