Pretty good upgrade over the previous installment. I really liked the addition of the special structures and enemy spawners. Something that I haven't really seen in other tower defence games. Everything is fairly crisp.
Game balance could be looked into, though. I find that with the resource-gathering structures and destruction of enemy spawners, the level can get progressively easier. Combine that with how powerful high leveled towers can get, and enemies that don't seem to increase in strength throughout a level, it can get fairly easy after a while. All you have to do is survive the initial stages.
Tower variety could also be expanded. You only get 9 final towers, and each of them aren't very different. There is little need to consider the tactical advantages of each tower as most of them would get the job done regardless of their positioning.
Pretty cool game, but it was pretty tough. To not fall asleep during the game. Seriously, it's way too easy, upgrades make you do boatloads of damage. There are long breaks in the story mode for no reason, which just leaves you with nothing to do for 10-15 seconds. There's also only three stages, which means you only get to play with 5 out of all the upgrades if you don't want to go through it again. I give a 3 only for the relative quality of the game. "Oooh, pixels!" doesn't make a game.
Quite a good game, but could benefit from better writing and plotline. There are some bugs in the game, like my character being unable to use the paralysis for some reason. More customizability would be good too, as well as a more useful rest action. To use rest is basically game over, unless the enemy is out of mana at the same time.
I have to commend on the quality of the game, but there has been too many similar games of the sort, and I don't see any unique feature defining it from the pack. Gameplay gets boring after a while, weapons are pretty typical.
Amusing, but not enough content for this overused game concept. There isn't much new in this game, and there are way too little types of units and upgrades to be able to allow players to play the game in the style they prefer. The game is also slow paced, what's with the waiting time when you start a wave and the unskippable animation when the plane comes in for supplies.
Pretty good game. The difficulty on normal isn't that bad, I got to around level 70 on my first character. The problem I faced is how hard it is to find suitable weapons. I had to use the same weapons for ten to twenty levels before finding a stronger version. Also, after about level 50 most of the skills begin to max out, and it becomes boring. All that you can increase are the weapon level skills. It also suffers from the lack of creativity of enemy design(or perhaps it's because of the second round of the game/where monster types are repeated again?). I've seen better bosses in other games of this kind.
Try the other tunnel!
